Tower Defense Simulator Tier List (2026)

Best Tower Defense Simulator towers: Accelerator, Ranger, Commander, DJ Booth, Farm, and Engineer dominate S-tier. Accelerator's beam melts everything. Ranger kills bosses. Commander and DJ Booth buff your DPS. Farm is mandatory for economy. Skip Scout, Sniper, and Medic.

I've tested every tower across 500+ hours and 200+ Fallen triumphs. Some are meta-defining. Some are coin traps. Grab free skincrates from codes before you start grinding.

Quick Tier List

Tier Towers
S Accelerator, Ranger, Commander, DJ Booth, Farm, Engineer
A Minigunner, Gatling Gun, Cowboy, Hacker, Crook Boss, Warden
B Electroshocker, Mortar, Ace Pilot, Military Base, Turret, Mercenary Base
C Soldier, Militant, Rocketeer, Freezer, Necromancer, Brawler
D Scout, Sniper, Paintballer, Demoman, Hunter, Medic, Trapper

S Tier - Meta Defining

These towers define the meta. You need them for high-level play.

Accelerator

Stat Value
Cost 2,500 Gems
Type Hardcore DPS
Get Level 50 + Hardcore

The best DPS tower in the game. Beam attack pierces through multiple enemies. When buffed by Commander and DJ Booth, Accelerator melts everything.

Requires Level 50 and Hardcore mode. Worth every gem.

Ranger

Stat Value
Cost 12,000 Coins
Type Cliff DPS
Get Store

Boss killer. Massive single-target damage. Max level Ranger with Commander buff destroys Molten Boss and Fallen King.

Cliff placement only. Find the best cliff spots on each map.

Commander

Stat Value
Cost 4,000 Coins
Type Support
Get Store

The support king. Buffs damage and attack speed of nearby towers. Call to Arms ability gives massive temporary buff.

Every loadout needs Commander. No exceptions.

DJ Booth

Stat Value
Cost 5,000 Coins
Type Support
Get Store

Attack speed buff stacks with Commander. Place DJ Booth near your DPS cluster. The combined buffs turn good towers into broken towers.

Custom Music gamepass lets you play your own songs. Worth it for the vibes.

Farm

Stat Value
Cost 2,000 Coins
Type Economy
Get Store

Mandatory. You cannot afford late-game upgrades without Farm. Place early, upgrade to max, profit.

Golden Cowboy is technically better income, but Farm is more accessible.

Engineer

Stat Value
Cost 4,500 Gems (or 2,250 Gems)
Type Hardcore Summon
Get Level 60 + Hardcore

Spawns turrets that attack enemies. Set and forget. The turrets benefit from Commander and DJ Booth buffs.

High skill ceiling. Turret placement matters.

A Tier - Excellent

Not quite S tier, but still strong. You can build loadouts around these.

Minigunner

Stat Value
Cost 8,000 Coins
Type DPS
Get Store

High sustained damage. Spin-up time is the only weakness. Once firing, Minigunner shreds.

Golden Minigunner perk gives +10% damage. Worth getting.

Gatling Gun

Stat Value
Cost 35,000 Coins
Type DPS
Get Store

Expensive but devastating. Highest raw DPS among non-Hardcore towers. The price tag is the only thing holding it back.

Cowboy

Stat Value
Cost 4,000 Coins (or 340 Gems)
Type Economy/DPS
Get Store

Generates income AND deals damage. Lasso ability stuns enemies. Golden Cowboy is the best economy option in the game.

Hacker

Stat Value
Cost 5,500 Gems (or 2,999 Gems)
Type Support/Economy
Get Hardcore

Cash generation, enemy slowdown, tower duplication. Hacker does everything. The new meta support tower.

Crook Boss

Stat Value
Cost Level 30 (or 300 Gems)
Type Summon DPS
Get Level 30

Spawns crooks that attack enemies. Max level spawns a boss crook. Golden Crook Boss is insane.

Warden

Stat Value
Cost 4,000 Coins (or 600 Gems)
Type Support
Get Store

Buffs tower range and provides hidden detection aura. Pairs well with Ranger and other long-range towers.

B Tier - Good

Solid picks with specific uses. Not core meta but still viable.

Electroshocker

Stat Value
Cost 3,000 Coins
Type Crowd Control
Get Store

Chain lightning stuns multiple enemies. Great for buying time. Falls off in late game when enemies have stun resistance.

Mortar

Stat Value
Cost Level 75 (or 395 Gems)
Type Cliff Splash
Get Level 75

Massive splash damage. Slow fire rate. Good for grouped enemies but struggles against fast waves.

Ace Pilot

Stat Value
Cost 1,500 Coins
Type Flying DPS
Get Store

Handles flying enemies. Napalm Strike ability is decent. Required for maps with flying waves.

Military Base

Stat Value
Cost 4,000 Coins
Type Summon
Get Store

Spawns soldiers that fight. Placement limit of 4 total. Good early-mid game, falls off late.

Turret

Stat Value
Cost Level 50 (or 450 Gems)
Type Automated DPS
Get Level 50

Automated turret. Decent damage. Outclassed by Engineer in Hardcore.

Mercenary Base

Stat Value
Cost Level 150 (or 1,800 Gems)
Type Summon
Get Level 150

Upgraded Military Base. Spawns stronger units. High level requirement limits accessibility.

C Tier - Situational

Use these early game or in specific situations. Outclassed by higher tiers.

Soldier

Stat Value
Cost 350 Coins
Type DPS
Get Store

Your first real DPS tower. Carries early game. Replace with Minigunner later.

Militant

Stat Value
Cost 500 Coins
Type DPS
Get Store

Upgraded Soldier. Slightly better stats. Still gets replaced mid-game.

Rocketeer

Stat Value
Cost 2,500 Coins
Type Splash
Get Store

High damage splash. Deadzone range is annoying. Enemies too close don't get hit.

Freezer

Stat Value
Cost 650 Coins
Type Slow
Get Store

Slows enemies. Useful early. Electroshocker does the job better.

Necromancer

Stat Value
Cost 2,250 Gems
Type Hardcore Summon
Get Level 50 + Hardcore

Summons undead from killed enemies. Cool concept, inconsistent execution. Engineer is more reliable.

Brawler

Stat Value
Cost 1,250 Gems
Type Hardcore Melee
Get Hardcore

Melee DPS. High damage but limited range. Niche use cases.

D Tier - Skip

Outclassed. Use only if you have nothing else.

Scout

Free starter. Fast attack, low damage. Replace immediately. I used Scout for my first 10 games before realizing how bad it was.

Sniper

Free starter. Decent range, hidden detection at max. Ranger does everything better.

Paintballer

100 coins. Slightly better than Scout. Still bad.

Demoman

200 coins. Splash damage. Rocketeer and Mortar outclass it.

Hunter

200 coins. Hidden detection. Warden provides detection as an aura. Hunter is redundant.

Medic

2,000 coins. Heals other towers. Towers rarely take damage. Waste of a slot. I've never seen Medic used in a winning Fallen run.

Trapper

3,000 coins. Places traps. Inconsistent. Not worth the slot.

Exclusive Towers

Event-exclusive towers vary in power. Some are S tier, some are memes.

Top Exclusive Towers:

  • Gladiator (The Heights) - Strong melee
  • Executioner (Totality Tower) - High damage
  • Sledger (Outpost 32) - Stun + damage
  • Toxic Gunner (Trick or Threat Town) - Poison damage
  • Commando (Badlands) - Solid DPS option

Skip:

  • Slasher (Nightmare Carnival) - Outclassed
  • Frost Blaster (Village of Despair) - Freezer but worse
