The Forge Ore Tier List (2026)

I’ve mined thousands of ores across 150+ hours in The Forge. This The Forge ore tier list ranks every ore based on multiplier, trait value, and actual usefulness in crafting. Some high-multiplier ores are traps. Some low-tier ores are secretly essential.

The Winter Expansion added new ores that completely changed the meta. Iceite and Etherealite now dominate endgame crafting. The Discord community has been theory-crafting builds nonstop since the update dropped.

December 28 Balance Patch: Several high-tier ores got nerfed. Gargantuan dropped from 33.3x to 25x, Heavenite from 25x to 20x, and Suryafal from 17.5x to 15x. Uranium’s trait changed from 5% to 1.2% but is now stackable across armor slots. The Lifesteal rune also got nerfed. Keep this in mind when planning builds.

S-Tier Ores

These are endgame. Farm them relentlessly.

Iceite

  • Multiplier: 10.5x
  • Trait: Freeze (stun enemies on hit)
  • Location: Frostspire Expanse deep caves
  • Best for: Weapons

The best weapon ore in the game. That 10.5x multiplier is insane, and the freeze trait provides crowd control that trivializes most content. I’ve been running Iceite weapons exclusively since the Winter Expansion.

The freeze procs consistently on fast weapons. Pair it with a katana or daggers and enemies barely get to attack.

Etherealite

  • Multiplier: 11.0x
  • Trait: Ghost (chance to phase through attacks)
  • Location: Frostspire Expanse floating crystals
  • Best for: Armor

Highest multiplier in the game. The ghost trait is basically free dodges. When it procs, you take zero damage from attacks that should have killed you.

Hardest ore to farm. The floating crystal platforms are dangerous and Etherealite spawns are rare. Worth every minute of grinding.

Demonite

  • Multiplier: 7.5x
  • Trait: Burn (15% chance for 20% weapon damage over 2 seconds)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom volcanic areas
  • Best for: Weapons (secondary)

The burn trait is reliable damage over time. Stacks with other damage sources. I use Demonite as a secondary ore in weapon recipes to add burn on top of freeze.

Also gives Demon’s Backfire passive on armor, which reflects damage to attackers. Solid defensive option.

Rivalite

  • Multiplier: 6.0x
  • Trait: Critical Strike (20% crit chance)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom basalt veins
  • Best for: Weapons

Crit builds are viable because of Rivalite. 20% crit chance is massive. Combine with high base damage weapons and you’re hitting for double damage constantly.

Lower multiplier than Iceite but the crit trait can outdamage freeze in certain builds.

A-Tier Ores

Excellent options. Use these regularly.

Lightite

  • Multiplier: 9.0x
  • Trait: Movement speed boost
  • Location: Frostspire Expanse basalt veins
  • Best for: Armor

The movement speed trait is underrated. Faster movement means better positioning, easier dodging, and faster mining runs. I always include Lightite in armor recipes.

High multiplier makes it competitive with Etherealite for armor crafting.

Snowite

  • Multiplier: 8.5x
  • Trait: Frostbite (slow enemies)
  • Location: Frostspire Expanse surface caves
  • Best for: Weapons (fast weapons)

Frostbite slows enemies, making them easier to kite. Works best on fast weapons that can apply the effect consistently. Daggers and katanas love Snowite.

Easier to farm than Iceite. Good stepping stone while you grind for the better ore.

Magmaite

  • Multiplier: 6.5x
  • Trait: Explosion (AoE damage on hit)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom volcanic areas
  • Best for: Weapons (AoE builds)

The explosion trait hits multiple enemies. Essential for clearing groups. I keep a Magmaite weapon specifically for farming areas with lots of mobs.

Lower multiplier hurts single-target damage but the AoE makes up for it.

Eye Ore

  • Multiplier: 5.5x
  • Trait: Damage boost (but reduces health)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom deep caves
  • Best for: Glass cannon builds

High risk, high reward. The damage boost is significant but the health reduction can get you killed. Only use if you’re confident in your dodging.

I ran Eye Ore for a week before switching to safer options. Fun but stressful.

B-Tier Ores

Solid mid-game options. Replace with S/A tier when possible.

Darkryte

  • Multiplier: 5.0x
  • Trait: Dodge chance (15%)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom
  • Best for: Armor

Dodge chance is nice but unreliable. Sometimes it saves you, sometimes it doesn’t proc when you need it. Etherealite’s ghost trait is better.

Still useful for mid-game armor before you can farm Frostspire.

Obsidian

  • Multiplier: 4.5x
  • Trait: Defense boost (30%)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom
  • Best for: Armor (tank builds)

Pure defense. No fancy effects, just more survivability. Good for players who struggle with dodging.

I used Obsidian armor through most of Forgotten Kingdom. Reliable but boring.

Mythril

  • Multiplier: 4.0x
  • Trait: Defense boost (15%)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom
  • Best for: Armor (early-mid game)

Weaker version of Obsidian. Use it until you can farm better ores. The 15% defense helps but doesn’t scale into late game.

Galaxite

  • Multiplier: 5.5x
  • Trait: Starfall (random damage bursts)
  • Location: Forgotten Kingdom rare spawns
  • Best for: Fun builds

Starfall is flashy but inconsistent. Sometimes it procs for big damage, sometimes it does nothing. Not reliable enough for serious builds.

Fun to mess around with though.

C-Tier Ores

Early-mid game only. Sell or skip.

Diamond

  • Multiplier: 3.5x
  • Trait: None (pure multiplier)
  • Location: Starter Village deep caves
  • Best for: Filler ore

No trait, just multiplier. Use as filler in recipes when you need to hit ore count requirements. Not worth building around.

Ruby

  • Multiplier: 3.0x
  • Trait: Fire resistance
  • Location: Starter Village
  • Best for: Volcanic area armor

Fire resistance is niche. Only useful in volcanic areas. Skip for general use.

Sapphire

  • Multiplier: 3.0x
  • Trait: Ice resistance
  • Location: Starter Village
  • Best for: Frostspire armor (early)

Ice resistance helps in Frostspire but you’ll replace this quickly with better ores.

Gold

  • Multiplier: 2.5x
  • Trait: Coin bonus
  • Location: Starter Village
  • Best for: Money farming

The coin bonus is nice for dedicated farming runs. Not useful for combat gear.

D-Tier Ores

Tutorial tier. Never use for crafting.

Iron

  • Multiplier: 1.5x
  • Trait: None
  • Location: Starter Village
  • Best for: Selling

Sell it. The multiplier is too low to matter. I have 500 Iron sitting in storage doing nothing.

Copper

  • Multiplier: 1.2x
  • Trait: None
  • Location: Starter Village
  • Best for: Selling

Same as Iron. Sell immediately.

Stone

  • Multiplier: 1.0x
  • Trait: None
  • Location: Everywhere
  • Best for: Nothing

Literally worthless. Don’t even pick it up late game.

Bronze

  • Multiplier: 1.3x
  • Trait: None
  • Location: Starter Village
  • Best for: Selling

Marginally better than Stone. Still useless.

Ore Farming Priority

What to farm at each stage:

Early Game (Level 1-30)

Focus: Gold, Diamond

  • Build up coins
  • Learn mining mechanics
  • Don’t waste time on Stone/Iron

Mid Game (Level 30-70)

Focus: Demonite, Magmaite, Obsidian

  • Start building real gear
  • Farm Forgotten Kingdom
  • Save for Demonic Pickaxe

Late Game (Level 70+)

Focus: Iceite, Etherealite, Lightite

  • Frostspire Expanse only
  • Endgame crafting
  • Replace all mid-game gear

Common Mistakes

  1. Hoarding low-tier ores - Sell Iron, Copper, Stone
  2. Using Diamond for weapons - No trait = wasted potential
  3. Ignoring Lightite - Movement speed is better than it sounds
  4. Farming Galaxite - Starfall is too random
  5. Skipping Demonite - Burn trait is always useful
