Terminal 13 monster survival: Entity = landmine at door. Employee = turn right in hallway, shoot. Corrector = jump out window, shoot while stuck. Window Imposter = back away from printer, shoot when it falls.
The Entity killed me six times before I learned about landmines. The Employee got me twice because I didn't know where to look. The Corrector? I just ran in circles until I found the window cheese.
This Terminal 13 monsters guide covers every creature that wants you dead and exactly how to survive them. Some require items. Some require positioning. All of them will kill you if you're not prepared.

Chapter 1 Monsters
The Entity
When it appears: End of your shift if you let any imposter through the checkpoint.
What it does: Slowly approaches you through the sliding door. Deals damage if it gets close. Will kill you if you don't stop it.
How to survive:
The easiest method is the landmine. Buy one from the shop ($40) and place it right in the middle of the sliding door before your shift ends. When the Entity walks in, it steps on the mine, takes massive damage, and retreats.
You might get knocked back by the blast, but you'll live.
Alternative method: Pump it full of shotgun shells. It takes several hits but eventually backs off. This is riskier because it keeps approaching while you're shooting.
Tip: If you know you let an imposter through, buy the landmine immediately. Don't wait until the shift ends.
The Employee
When it appears: Random event during any shift. A hulking creature rushes through the door, lights go out briefly, then an alarm triggers.
What it does: Hides somewhere in the terminal. You have about 30 seconds to find and eliminate it before it kills you.
How to survive:
- Get your shotgun ready
- Walk out of your workstation
- Turn right in the hallway
- It's crouching to the side, trying to hide
- One shotgun blast and it disappears
The Employee always hides in the same spot. Once you know where to look, it's free. The Discord figured this out within days of release.
Tip: Don't panic when the lights go out. The alarm gives you plenty of time. Just walk calmly to the hallway and shoot.
The Boss
When it appears: End of Chapter 1, after completing three shifts.
What it does: Gives you a "work evaluation" and reveals the true purpose of your job. Then terminates your employment. Permanently.
How to survive: You can't. This is a story event. The Boss is part of the mystery and will appear in future chapters.
The lore suggests the imposters are giving humans these jobs to learn how to adapt and blend in better. Creepy stuff.
Chapter 2 Monsters
The Corrector
When it appears: End of your shift if you let any imposter through at the road checkpoint.
What it does: Walks down the road toward your office. Same concept as the Entity but in a different location.
How to survive:
Method 1 (Cheese): Stay inside your office until the Corrector enters. Then jump out the window next to the Emergency Button. The Corrector gets stuck in an animation trying to reach you through the window. It can't actually get through. Just pump it full of shotgun shells while it's stuck.
This might get patched, but for now it's the easiest method.
Method 2 (Legit): Same as the Entity. Landmine at the entrance or shotgun it down before it reaches you.
The Employee (Chapter 2 Version)
When it appears: Two scenarios in Chapter 2.
Scenario 1 - Power outage: When the power goes down, you have to go to the back building to restart it. After you flip the switch, the Employee starts chasing you.
How to survive: Don't stop running. Shooting it does nothing. Just sprint back to your office and it disappears.
Scenario 2 - Hiding threat: Sometimes you get a warning that a threat is hiding somewhere at the checkpoint. The Employee hides behind the dead tree across from the power building.
How to survive: Check behind the tree and shoot it. It blends in well, so look carefully.
Window Imposter
When it appears: After you finish fixing the printer in your office.
What it does: Climbs through the window next to the printer and attacks you.
How to survive:
As soon as you finish the printer repair, back away from the window. The imposter climbs in but falls flat on its face when it lands. This gives you time to grab your shotgun and blast it.
You can place a Beartrap ($40) under the window for extra safety, but it's not necessary. The fall animation gives you plenty of time.
Car Imposters
When it appears: You get a call from someone asking you to check their stranded car at the beginning of the road.
What it does: It's a trap. When you approach the car, imposters start chasing you.
How to survive: Just run. Sprint back to your office as fast as possible. Don't try to fight them. Once you're inside, they give up.
Tip: If you get this call, you can ignore it. But if you want the experience (and the jumpscare), just be ready to run.
The Scientist
When it appears: End of Chapter 2.
What it does: Story event similar to the Boss. Reveals more about the imposter conspiracy.
How to survive: You can't fight it. Just watch the cutscene.
Best Items for Monster Survival
| Item | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Landmine | $40 | Entity, Corrector |
| Scanner | $85 | Preventing mistakes |
| Beartrap | $40 | Window Imposter (optional) |
| Music Box | $50 | Not recommended |
| Blunderbuss | $60 | Not recommended |
Landmine is the best defensive item. Guaranteed survival against Entity and Corrector.
Scanner prevents monsters from appearing in the first place by helping you identify imposters correctly.
Beartrap is situational. Only useful for the Window Imposter, and you don't need it.
Music Box distracts monsters briefly but costs more than the landmine for worse results.
Blunderbuss breaks after a few shots. Your regular shotgun has infinite ammo. Don't waste money.
Monster Prevention Tips
The best way to survive monsters is to not trigger them.
Don't let imposters through. Every monster except the Employee appears because you made a mistake. Get better at identification.
Buy the Scanner early. $85 is expensive but three guaranteed correct answers per shift is worth it.
Use your free hint. One per shift. Save it for ??? travelers or confusing cases.
Slow down. There's no rush. Ask all the questions. Check all the details. A few extra seconds of verification beats fighting the Entity.
