Look, I’m gonna be honest. I got terminated like 15 times before I figured out the anomaly system in this game. Skinwalkers especially. They look completely normal through the window and then boom, you’re dead because you didn’t check night vision.
After 50+ shifts at Shawarma 24, I’ve seen every entity type. Some are obvious (floating heads, really?), others will absolutely fool you if you’re not paying attention. This is everything I’ve learned about spotting anomalies before they spot you.
Quick note: grab the free Anomaly Coins from codes first. The Anomaly Detector power-up is basically cheating, it highlights entities automatically.
How Detection Actually Works
Three ways to check customers. Use all of them.
Window observation is just looking at them. Obvious stuff like creatures on backs, black eyes, missing limbs. Easy mode.
CCTV cameras let you check the monitors before opening your shutter. Some anomalies only show up on camera.
Night vision toggle is the one people miss. Skinwalkers look 100% human in normal view. Toggle night vision and suddenly you see their real form. I cannot stress this enough.
When in doubt? Close the shutter. Losing a customer is whatever. Getting terminated ends your run.
The Obvious Ones (Visual Anomalies)
These you can spot just by looking. If you’re failing these, I don’t know what to tell you.
Creature on Back
Parasitic thing attached to their shoulders. Sometimes it moves on its own which is… yeah.
Action: Shutter. Immediately.
Black Hole Eyes
No whites, no pupils. Just void. Creepy as hell.
Action: Shutter.
Sometimes hard to see in bad lighting. Squint if you have to.
Blank Face
Smooth skin where face should be. No features at all.
Action: Shutter.
Don’t confuse with Faceless Man though, that’s a different entity with different rules. More on him later.
Distorted Limbs
Arms too long. Legs bent wrong. Extra joints where joints shouldn’t be.
Action: Shutter.
The arm proportions are usually the tell. If their hands reach past their knees, that’s not human.
Glitchy Texture
Body or clothes flicker like a corrupted video file. Visual artifacts, static patches.
Action: Shutter.
More common after Day 20. The glitching can be subtle so watch for a few seconds.
Wide Smile
Grin that stretches way past normal. Too many teeth. You know it when you see it.
Action: Shutter.
NOT the same as “Smiling Customer” rule. That’s a normal human who needs soda. Check your rules wall.
Missing Parts
Floating head. No arms. Transparent sections. Anything that shouldn’t be missing.
Action: Shutter.
Ranges from obvious to “wait, did they have fingers before?”
The Sneaky Ones (CCTV Detection)
These look normal through the window. That’s the point.
Skinwalker
Looks completely human. Acts completely human. Orders food like a normal person.
Check CCTV with night vision on. Their true form is… not human.
Action: Shutter.
This is why you ALWAYS check cameras. I died to skinwalkers more than any other entity my first week. Embarrassing tbh.
Camera Distortion Entity
When you view them on CCTV, the feed goes crazy. Static, screaming faces, visual corruption.
Action: Shutter.
The distortion IS the tell. If your camera freaks out on one specific customer, that’s your answer.
Disappearing Customer
Someone’s at your window. You check CCTV. They’re not there.
Action: Shutter.
If they don’t show up on camera, they’re not real. Or they’re too real. Either way, don’t serve them.
The Double
Same customer in two places at once. One at your window, one somewhere else on camera.
Action: Shutter.
Scan all feeds. If you see the same person twice, neither is human. Both are problems.
Behavior Anomalies
These reveal themselves through actions, not appearance.
Cryptic Dialogue
Nonsense phrases. Backwards speech. Things that aren’t food orders.
Action: Shutter.
Normal customers say normal things. “I’d like the flesh of the innocent” is not a normal order.
Twitching Movement
Jerky, unnatural motion. Like a broken animatronic or stop-motion puppet.
Action: Shutter.
Watch them for a few seconds before serving. Anomalies can’t maintain smooth human movement for long.
Unnatural Dancing
Weird rhythmic movements while ordering. Nobody does this.
Action: Shutter.
Repeat Customer
Someone you already served comes back during the same shift. Same appearance, same everything.
Action: Shutter the second one.
Humans don’t come back for seconds. The copy is always the anomaly.
Special Entities (Different Rules)
These override normal “close shutter” logic. Mess these up and you’re in trouble.
The Faceless Man
No face, but NOT the same as Blank Face anomaly. This is a specific recurring entity.
Action: YOU MUST SERVE HIM.
Don’t stare at where his face should be. Prep his order fast. Serve and move on.
Closing the shutter on him counts as a mistake. Multiple mistakes means termination.
Check your rules wall. It’ll mention him.
Smiling Customer
Normal human who happens to be smiling.
Action: Serve them, BUT add soda to their order no matter what they ordered.
This isn’t an anomaly, it’s a rule. Smiling means soda required. Forget the soda and it counts as a mistake.
Paper Parcel Customer
After you serve them, they hand you a wrapped paper parcel.
Action: Take it. Put it under the table. DO NOT OPEN IT.
Opening it teleports you to a dark dimension. It’s one of the secret endings if you want it, but don’t do it by accident.
Santa (Christmas Event)
Looks like Santa. His sack is moving/struggling.
Action: Shutter.
Real Santa wouldn’t have a struggling sack. Pretty sure that’s not presents in there.
Environmental Stuff
Not customers, but warning signs.
Flickering lights means something’s coming. Stay alert.
Screen static means entity interference. Check all cameras carefully.
Moving meat tray means something’s in your kiosk with you. Great.
Fog event means close window immediately. Wait for it to clear. You might see dead bodies hanging in the air. Don’t serve anyone during fog.
The 2 AM Inspection
This happens every shift. Driverless car pulls up at 2 AM.
Here’s what you do:
- Exit through back door
- Keep your back to the kiosk
- Don’t look at monitors
- Don’t look back
- Wait
If you look? “Unauthorized presence” termination. Instant game over.
I failed this five times. The urge to look is real. Don’t do it.
Detection Priority Order
When multiple customers are waiting:
- CCTV scan all of them first
- Toggle night vision to catch skinwalkers
- Direct observation for obvious tells
- Watch behavior for a few seconds
- Listen to dialogue
Late Game Tips (Day 30+)
Things get harder. Multiple anomalies at once. Subtler tells.
Get the Anomaly Detector from codes or corruption shop. It highlights entities. Basically required for late game.
Prep meat during calm periods so you have 6+ pieces ready. That way you can focus on detection, not cooking.
Trust your gut because if something feels off, shutter. Better paranoid than terminated.
Check rules every shift since they change. Some anomalies become “must serve” based on daily rules.
Quick Reference
Always Shutter: Creature on back, black hole eyes, blank face, distorted limbs, glitchy texture, wide smile, skinwalker (night vision), camera distortion, disappearing on CCTV, doubles, cryptic dialogue, twitching, dancing, repeat customer, Santa with struggling sack
Must Serve: Faceless Man (don’t stare), Smiling Customer (add soda)
Environmental: Flickering lights means alert, static means check cameras, moving meat means something’s inside, fog means close window and wait
