Plague Weapons Tier List (2026)

Flamethrower and Minigun are the best weapons in Plague. Flamethrower melts zombie hordes with AOE damage. Minigun has the highest DPS in the game. If you find either one, you're set for the round.

After 50+ rounds of Plague, I've used every weapon and died to every weapon. Some guns win rounds. Some get you killed. Here's what actually works.

Quick Tier List

Tier Weapons
S Flamethrower, Minigun
A AK-47, Uzi
B Shotgun, Sniper, Crossbow
C Pistol, Melee weapons

S-tier weapons win rounds. A-tier is reliable. B-tier is situational. C-tier means you're desperate.

S-Tier Weapons

Flamethrower

The best weapon in Plague. No contest.

Why it's S-tier:

  • AOE damage hits multiple zombies at once
  • Continuous fire means no reload downtime during fights
  • Zombies can't rush through the flames
  • Holds chokepoints solo

Where to find it: High-risk areas, usually in the center of maps or dangerous buildings. Worth the risk to grab it.

Ammo: Burns through fuel fast. Don't spray randomly. Short bursts on groups.

I've clutched 1v8 situations with Flamethrower. Point it at a doorway and nothing gets through. The AOE is what makes it broken - you're not aiming at individual zombies, you're creating a wall of fire.

Minigun

Highest DPS in the game. Shreds anything in front of you.

Why it's S-tier:

  • Insane damage output
  • Large magazine means extended fights
  • Suppressive fire keeps zombies back
  • Melts even tanky zombie variants

Where to find it: Rare spawn in high-value loot areas. When you see it, grab it immediately.

Ammo: Eats ammo faster than any other weapon. Find ammo crates or you'll run dry mid-fight.

Downside: Spin-up time before firing. You need to anticipate zombie rushes, not react to them. I've died holding a Minigun because I started spinning too late.

A-Tier Weapons

AK-47

The reliable workhorse. Good damage, good accuracy, good ammo economy.

Why it's A-tier:

  • Balanced stats across the board
  • Common enough to actually find
  • Ammo is easy to manage
  • Works at all ranges

Where to find it: Mid-tier loot areas. More common than S-tier weapons.

Best for: Players who want consistency. AK won't win rounds alone but it won't lose them either.

Uzi

Fast fire rate with decent damage. Great for panic situations.

Why it's A-tier:

  • High fire rate shreds close zombies
  • Quick reload
  • Good mobility while shooting
  • Reliable backup weapon

Where to find it: Common spawn across most areas.

Downside: Burns ammo quickly at full auto. Tap fire at range, full auto up close.

B-Tier Weapons

Shotgun

High burst damage up close. Situational but strong in the right spots.

Why it's B-tier:

  • One-shots zombies at point blank
  • Good for holding tight corners
  • Satisfying to use

Downside: Useless at range. Slow reload. If zombies swarm from multiple angles, you're dead.

Best for: Holding a single doorway or corner. Not for open areas.

Sniper

Long range precision. Niche but has its moments.

Why it's B-tier:

  • One-shots zombies at any range
  • Good for picking off stragglers
  • Useful early round before the swarm builds

Downside: Slow fire rate. When 10 zombies rush you, a sniper won't save you.

Best for: Early round picks. Switch to something else when the horde grows.

Crossbow

Silent and deadly. Similar to sniper but with different trade-offs.

Why it's B-tier:

  • High damage per shot
  • Quiet (doesn't attract more zombies)
  • Satisfying headshots

Downside: Even slower than sniper. Reload takes forever.

Best for: Stealth plays early round. Not viable late game.

C-Tier Weapons

Pistol

The "I couldn't find anything else" weapon.

Why it's C-tier:

  • Low damage
  • Small magazine
  • Outclassed by everything

When to use: Only if you literally have nothing else. Drop it the moment you find anything better.

Melee Weapons (Non-Class)

Basic melee weapons you find on the ground. Not the Samurai chainsaw.

Why it's C-tier:

  • Requires getting close to zombies
  • Low damage compared to class melee
  • High risk, low reward

Exception: If you have Samurai class, your chainsaw is S-tier. Random melee pickups are not.

Weapon Spawn Locations

Weapons spawn in specific areas. Learn the maps.

High-risk areas (S-tier weapon spawns):

  • Center of maps
  • Inside buildings with multiple entrances
  • Areas far from spawn

Mid-risk areas (A-tier weapon spawns):

  • Secondary buildings
  • Along main paths
  • Near defensive positions

Low-risk areas (B/C-tier weapon spawns):

  • Near spawn points
  • Open areas with good visibility
  • Easy escape routes

The best weapons spawn in the most dangerous spots. That's intentional. You have to earn the Flamethrower.

Ammo Management

Running out of ammo mid-fight is how most survivors die. Here's how to avoid it:

Flamethrower/Minigun: Short bursts only. Don't hold the trigger unless you're about to die.

AK-47/Uzi: Tap fire at range. Full auto only when zombies are close.

Shotgun: Every shot counts. Don't miss.

Find ammo crates: They spawn around the map. Memorize locations.

Don't waste ammo on single zombies: Melee them or let teammates handle it. Save ammo for the swarm.

Weapon + Class Combos

Your class affects how you should use weapons.

Samurai + Any ranged weapon: Your chainsaw handles close range. Use guns for distance.

Trackstar + Uzi/AK: Your speed lets you kite. Shoot while moving.

Prototype + Minigun/Flamethrower: Your combat boost makes S-tier weapons even stronger.

Default class + Flamethrower: The weapon carries you. Prioritize finding it.

Common Mistakes

Ignoring weapon spawns. Some players focus on positioning and forget to loot. Better weapons = better survival.

Using Sniper late game. It's useless against swarms. Switch weapons.

Spraying Minigun constantly. You'll run out of ammo in 30 seconds. Controlled bursts.

Fighting over weapons with teammates. If someone grabbed the Flamethrower, find something else. Team infighting gets everyone killed.

Not dropping bad weapons. You can only carry so much. Drop the Pistol when you find an AK.

FAQ

What's the best weapon for beginners?

AK-47. Reliable, common, forgiving. Learn the game with it before chasing S-tier weapons.

Is Flamethrower or Minigun better?

Flamethrower for holding positions. Minigun for raw damage. Both are S-tier. Take whichever you find first.

Should I risk going for S-tier weapons?

Early round, yes. Late round when zombies are everywhere, no. A living player with an Uzi beats a dead player who almost reached the Flamethrower.

Do weapons affect zombie gameplay?

No. Weapons are survivor-only. As a zombie, you use your class abilities.
