Trading is how you actually progress in Pet Simulator 99. I’ve gone from basic Huges to multiple Titanics purely through smart trades. Here’s everything I’ve learned about the PS99 trading system.
Unlocking the Trading Plaza
Before you can trade, you need access to the Trading Plaza:
- Reach The Castle in Area Three (Spawn World)
- Complete your first Rebirth at the golden cat statue
- Return to The Castle - the gate will now be open
- Walk through the main hallway to enter the Trading Plaza
The Trading Plaza is where all trading happens. You can’t trade in regular game areas.
Pro Trading Plaza
If you have 5+ Huge pets or any Titanic pet, you can access the Pro Trading Plaza. This area has:
- More serious traders
- Higher value items
- Less spam and scammers
- Better auction activity
How to Trade
There are three ways to trade in PS99:
Direct Trading
The most common method:
- Open your Inventory
- Click the trade button (green/yellow icon)
- Walk up to another player
- Request a trade
- Both players add items
- Both players confirm
- Trade completes
Direct trades have no tax and are instant.
Booth Trading
Set up a shop to sell while AFK:
- Find an unclaimed booth in the Trading Plaza
- Interact with it to claim it
- Select pets/items to sell
- Set your diamond prices
- Wait for buyers
Booth sales have a 1% tax. Selling for 100M diamonds gives you 99M.
Auction House
For high-value items:
- Interact with the giant billboard above the Plaza
- List your item with a starting bid
- Set auction duration
- Wait for bids
Auctions also have 1% tax on the final sale.
Understanding Pet Values
Values change constantly. Here’s how to check them:
Value List Sites
| Site | Best For |
|---|---|
| 123Demands | Most accurate RAP, live charts |
| Cosmic Values | Quick value checks |
| PS99 RAP | In-game RAP tracking |
| Traderie | Actual trade listings |
Key Terms
- RAP (Recent Average Price): What the pet actually sells for
- Demand: How many people want it (affects real value)
- Exists: How many copies exist in the game
- Bugged RAP: Artificially inflated values (avoid these)
Value vs Demand
A pet’s listed value isn’t always what you’ll get:
- High demand pets trade above RAP
- Low demand pets trade below RAP
- New event pets have unstable values
- Discontinued pets often rise over time
Trading Strategies
For Beginners
Start small and build up:
- Trade duplicates for pets you don’t have
- Focus on fair trades - don’t try to profit yet
- Learn values before making big trades
- Use booth sales to convert pets to diamonds
- Buy underpriced booth items and resell
Intermediate Trading
Once you understand values:
- Buy low, sell high on event pets
- Trade during events when values fluctuate
- Bundle multiple pets for single upgrades
- Watch for panic sellers after events end
- Hold discontinued pets for value increases
Advanced Trading
For serious traders:
- Track RAP trends on 123Demands charts
- Identify bugged RAP before buying
- Time your sales around updates
- Use multiple value sources to verify
- Build relationships with regular traders
Common Scams to Avoid
PS99 has a lot of scammers. Here’s what to watch for:
Trust Trade Scam
How it works: Someone asks you to send pets first, promising to send back double or “signed” pets.
Reality: They take your pets and leave.
Rule: NEVER send pets first. Ever.
Fake Value Scam
How it works: Scammer claims their pet is worth way more than it is, showing fake screenshots or outdated values.
Reality: The pet is worth far less.
Rule: Always check multiple value sites yourself.
Quick Switch Scam
How it works: Scammer shows a valuable pet, then quickly swaps it for a worthless one before you confirm.
Reality: You trade for garbage.
Rule: Always double-check what’s in the trade before confirming.
Bugged RAP Scam
How it works: Someone artificially inflates a pet’s RAP, then tries to sell it at the fake value.
Reality: The pet’s real value is much lower.
Rule: Check if RAP suddenly spiked on value sites.
Middleman Scam
How it works: Fake “middleman” offers to hold items during a trade, then disappears.
Reality: They steal everything.
Rule: Only use verified middlemen from official Discord servers.
Tax Calculations
Understanding tax helps you price correctly:
| Sale Price | Tax (1%) | You Receive |
|---|---|---|
| 1M | 10K | 990K |
| 10M | 100K | 9.9M |
| 100M | 1M | 99M |
| 1B | 10M | 990M |
| 10B | 100M | 9.9B |
Factor tax into your booth prices. If you want 100M, list for ~101M.
Best Practices
Before Trading
- Check values on multiple sites
- Verify the pet variant (Normal/Golden/Rainbow)
- Look for bugged RAP indicators
- Know what you’re willing to accept
During Trading
- Double-check items before confirming
- Don’t rush - scammers pressure you
- Screenshot high-value trades
- Use direct trade for valuable items
After Trading
- Verify you received correct items
- Report scammers to Big Games Discord
- Update your value knowledge
- Track your profit/loss
Trading Etiquette
The community has unwritten rules:
- Don’t spam trade requests - one request is enough
- Don’t lowball aggressively - slight underpay is fine, 50% offers aren’t
- Respond to declines politely - “nty” means no, move on
- Advertise in chat reasonably - don’t spam every 5 seconds
- Honor agreed trades - backing out last second is bad form
Where to Find Trades
In-Game
- Trading Plaza (regular and Pro)
- Booth browsing
- Auction watching
External
- Big Games Discord - Official trading channels
- Traderie - Online marketplace
- Reddit r/PetSimulator99 - Trade posts
Building Your Portfolio
Think of trading like investing:
Diversify
Don’t put everything into one pet type. Spread across:
- Event pets (seasonal value)
- Exclusive pets (stable value)
- Huge pets (trading currency)
- Titanics (long-term holds)
Hold vs Flip
- Hold: Discontinued pets, limited event items
- Flip: Current event pets, common Huges
Track Your Trades
Keep notes on:
- What you traded
- What you received
- Profit/loss per trade
- Which strategies work
