Natural Disaster Survival has 13 disasters. Each one kills differently, and each one has tells you can read before the warning pops up. After grinding to 500+ survivals, I can call the disaster within seconds of spawning just by looking at the sky.
I've died to every disaster type at least a dozen times while learning these patterns. The prediction system took me about 50 rounds to get consistent with, but now I position myself before the warning appears in most rounds.
The game never repeats the same disaster twice in a row. If you just survived a tornado, cross it off your mental list for the next round. I learned this the hard way after panicking about back-to-back tornadoes that never came.

Acid Rain
Warning: "Acid Rain! Stay Indoors!"
Weather: Cloudy
What happens: Green acidic rain falls from the sky. Standing outside drains your health. The rain also damages structures over time, but buildings don't collapse fast enough to matter.
How to survive: Get under any roof. A tiny overhang works. The acid only hits you when you're directly exposed to the sky. Even standing under a single brick saves you.
Death rate: Low. This is one of the easiest disasters. Most deaths come from players who don't realize they're taking damage until it's too late.
Map-specific notes:
- Arch Park: The hotdog stand roof works
- Coastal Quickstop: Docking platforms have overhangs
- Open maps are harder but still manageable
Avalanche
Warning: "Avalanche! Avoid the path of the snow!"
Weather: Sunny
What happens: A mountain spawns near the island. Large snow blocks slide down and push players. The blocks don't kill directly but knock you into the water or off the map.
How to survive: Move perpendicular to the snow's path. Don't try to outrun it going the same direction. Get behind large structures that can block the snow. The snow comes from one direction, so the opposite side of the map is safe.
Death rate: Medium. The snow itself isn't deadly, but the knockback is. Players who panic and run straight away from the mountain usually get pushed into the water.
Map-specific notes:
- The mountain always spawns on one side
- Large buildings block the snow effectively
- Stay away from map edges near the mountain
Blizzard
Warning: "Blizzard! Find shelter and stay warm!"
Weather: Foggy (white haze)
What happens: A white haze covers your screen. Standing in the open drains your health from the cold. Walls block the wind and stop the damage.
How to survive: Get inside any building. Corners are best because wind can't reach you from multiple angles. The hotdog stand on Arch Park is famous for being a solid blizzard shelter despite its small size. I've survived dozens of blizzards crammed in there with 5 other players.
Death rate: Low. Similar to Acid Rain but with worse visibility. Deaths usually happen when players can't find shelter in time or don't realize they're taking damage.
Early warning: Foggy weather with white tint means Blizzard. Sandstorm has yellow tint.
Map-specific notes:
- Arch Park: Hotdog stand is the go-to spot
- Factory Frenzy: Factory interior is safe
- Heights School: Many enclosed rooms
Deadly Virus
Warning: "Deadly Virus! Avoid crowds!"
Weather: Sunny
What happens: One random player starts infected. They cough up green droplets that spread the virus. Touching droplets or infected players infects you. Infection drains health until death.
How to survive: Stay away from everyone. Open areas are better than buildings because you can see infected players coming. The fewer players in the server, the easier this disaster is.
Death rate: Medium to High depending on server population. In a full server, the virus spreads fast. In a nearly empty server, it's free survival.
Map-specific notes:
- Map edges are safest
- Avoid buildings where players cluster
- Watch for green particles on other players
Earthquake
Warning: "Earthquake! Get outside and stay away from buildings!"
Weather: Sunny
What happens: The ground shakes violently. Buildings collapse. Players get flung around randomly. Debris can hit and kill you. The shaking can throw you off the map into the water.
How to survive: Get to open areas away from any structures. Keep jumping. When you're airborne, the ground shaking doesn't affect you. The more you jump, the less you get flung around. I tested this over 30 earthquake rounds and jumping consistently saved me.
Death rate: High. One of the deadliest disasters. Buildings that look safe become death traps. Players who stay inside get crushed by falling debris or flung into walls.
Map-specific notes:
- Coastal Quickstop: Few structures, easier to survive
- Heights School: The building becomes a death trap
- Any map with tall structures is dangerous
Fire
Warning: "Fire! Keep distance from the fire!"
Weather: Sunny
What happens: Fire starts at a specific location on the map and spreads. Touching fire or burning objects drains health. The fire spreads faster than most players expect.
How to survive: Know where fire spawns on each map. Move away from that location immediately. Fire always starts in the same spot on each map, so learning spawn points gives you a head start.
Death rate: Low. Fire is slow and predictable. Deaths happen when players don't know the spawn point or get cornered.
Map-specific notes:
- Each map has a fixed fire spawn location
- Water (if available) stops fire spread
- The opposite side of the map from spawn is always safe
Flash Flood
Warning: "Flash Flood! Seek higher ground!"
Weather: Cloudy
What happens: Water levels rise rapidly. Being in the water drains health. Some structures collapse when the water hits them. The water rises high enough to cover most ground-level areas.
How to survive: Get to rooftops or high terrain immediately. Not all rooftops survive. Sturdy buildings with multiple floors are best. Some structures collapse under the water pressure.
Death rate: Medium. Deaths come from choosing weak structures that collapse or not reaching high ground in time.
Map-specific notes:
- Happy Home: Roof survives, earns you the "House Flood" badge
- Rainbow Ride: Weak structures, high death rate
- Factory Frenzy: Factory roof is reliable
Meteor Shower
Warning: "Meteor Shower! Watch the sky and take cover!"
Weather: Sunny
What happens: Meteors fall from the sky randomly. They cast shadows before impact. Direct hits kill instantly. Meteors destroy structures on impact.
How to survive: Keep moving. Watch the ground for shadows. Standing still makes you an easy target. Open areas let you see shadows coming. Buildings provide cover but can collapse if hit.
Death rate: High. One of the hardest disasters. The randomness means even good players die sometimes. Constant movement is the only reliable strategy.
Map-specific notes:
- Open maps let you see shadows better
- Buildings can save you or trap you
- Keep moving no matter what
Sandstorm
Warning: "Sandstorm! Dodge flying objects!"
Weather: Foggy (yellow haze)
What happens: A yellow haze covers your screen. Flying debris moves across the map and damages players on contact. Visibility is poor.
How to survive: Get inside buildings and stay away from windows and openings. The debris can't reach you inside enclosed spaces. The yellow haze makes it hard to see, so get inside early before visibility drops.
Death rate: Medium. Similar to Blizzard but with active threats instead of passive damage. Deaths happen when players can't find shelter or get hit while running.
Early warning: Foggy weather with yellow tint means Sandstorm. Blizzard has white tint.
Map-specific notes:
- Heights School: Many enclosed rooms
- Open maps are dangerous
- Windows and openings let debris in
Thunderstorm
Warning: "Thunder Storm! Avoid high and open places!"
Weather: Cloudy
What happens: Lightning strikes the island every two seconds. Lightning favors high points like towers, rooftops, and raised terrain. Direct strikes kill or severely damage players. Struck structures break.
How to survive: Stay low and inside. Ground floors of buildings are safest. Avoid towers, rooftops, and any raised position. The lowest point on the map is the safest.
Death rate: Medium. Deaths come from players who climb towers or stay on rooftops. The lightning targeting high points is consistent, so staying low works.
Map-specific notes:
- Fort Indestructible: The tower is a death trap, but surviving in the helicopter earns the "GET TO THE CHOPPA!" badge
- Sky Tower: Avoid the tower entirely
- Furious Station: Gas station roof has multiple layers, safer than it looks
Tornado
Warning: "Tornado! Stay clear of its path!"
Weather: Cloudy
What happens: A massive tornado moves around the map. It destroys everything in its path and flings players off the map. The tornado moves somewhat randomly but covers most of the island over time.
How to survive: Run perpendicular to its path. Don't try to outrun it in a straight line. The tornado is faster than you. Get to the opposite side of the map and keep distance. Large structures can block it temporarily. I've died to tornadoes more than any other disaster because I kept trying to outrun them directly.
Death rate: High. One of the deadliest disasters. The tornado's movement is hard to predict, and getting caught means instant death. Even experienced players die to bad tornado pathing.
Map-specific notes:
- Larger maps give you more room to run
- Small maps are death traps
- Sturdy structures buy you time but don't stop it
Tsunami
Warning: "Tsunami! Get to higher ground!"
Weather: Sunny
What happens: A massive wave sweeps across the island from one direction. The wave destroys weak structures and kills players on contact. After the wave passes, water levels remain high.
How to survive: Get to the highest point on the map immediately. The wave comes from one direction, so the opposite side's high ground is safest. Watch the water at round start to see which direction the wave will come from. I've died too many times climbing the wrong side of a building.
Death rate: High. The wave is fast and deadly. Players who don't reach high ground in time die. Weak structures collapse, killing players who thought they were safe.
Early warning: Watch the water level at round start. The side where water is rising is where the wave comes from.
Map-specific notes:
- Fort Indestructible: Tower survives but is risky in other disasters
- Happy Home: Roof survives
- Arch Park: The arch is weak and collapses
Volcanic Eruption
Warning: "Volcanic Eruption! Get away from the volcano!"
Weather: Sunny
What happens: A volcano spawns near the island. After 15 seconds, it erupts and shoots red and yellow lava blocks across the map. Lava blocks damage players on contact.
How to survive: Move to the map edges far from the volcano. Watch the sky for falling lava. The lava favors areas near the volcano but can land anywhere. Keep moving and watch for incoming blocks.
Death rate: Medium. The 15-second delay gives you time to position. Deaths happen when players stay near the volcano or don't watch for falling lava.
Early warning: The volcano spawns at the same time as the warning, giving you 15 seconds before eruption.
Map-specific notes:
- Map edges opposite the volcano are safest
- Open areas let you see falling lava
- Buildings provide some cover but can be hit
Disaster Prediction System
You can predict disasters before the warning by reading the weather:
Step 1: Check the sky
- Cloudy = Acid Rain, Flash Flood, Thunderstorm, or Tornado
- Sunny = Avalanche, Deadly Virus, Earthquake, Fire, Meteor Shower, Tsunami, or Volcanic Eruption
- Foggy = Blizzard or Sandstorm
Step 2: Check the fog tint (if foggy)
- White haze = Blizzard
- Yellow haze = Sandstorm
Step 3: Eliminate the previous disaster The same disaster never happens twice in a row. If you just survived a tornado, it won't be a tornado next round.
This narrows your options from 13 disasters to 2-4 before the warning even appears.
