My Fishing Brainrots Guide (2026)

My Fishing Brainrots is the laziest game I’ve ever loved. You hatch weird meme creatures, they fish for you automatically, and you make money while doing absolutely nothing. I left it running overnight and woke up to 2 million coins. That’s the dream right there.

This My Fishing Brainrots guide covers everything from your first egg to maxing out your Fish Index. Whether you’re brand new or stuck mid-game, I got you.

How My Fishing Brainrots Works

The gameplay loop is dead simple:

  1. Buy eggs from the conveyor
  2. Hatch brainrot pets
  3. Brainrots fish automatically in the pond
  4. Fish go into boxes
  5. Sell boxes for cash
  6. Buy better eggs
  7. Upgrade your brainrots
  8. Rebirth for permanent bonuses
  9. Repeat forever

That’s it. The whole game. And somehow I’ve sunk 20+ hours into it already.

Your First 30 Minutes

When you spawn, you get some starting cash. Here’s exactly what to do:

  1. Walk to the egg conveyor (big machine in the center)
  2. Buy the cheapest egg available
  3. Place it on your plot
  4. Wait for it to hatch
  5. Watch your first brainrot start fishing

Your starter brainrot is probably Common rarity. It fishes slow. That’s fine. You need cash flow before you can be picky.

Once you have one brainrot working, buy another egg. Fill your available slots. More brainrots = more fish = more money.

The Egg System

Eggs are everything in this game. Better eggs mean better brainrots.

Egg Rarities

RarityBrainrot QualitySpawn Timer
CommonWorstAlways available
UncommonBelow averageShort wait
RareDecentMedium wait
EpicGoodLonger wait
LegendaryExcellentLong wait
MythicBestVery long wait

The conveyor belt shows a timer for rare eggs. Epic, Legendary, and Mythic eggs are guaranteed to appear after their timer hits zero. You can reduce these timers by upgrading the conveyor.

Egg Buying Strategy

Here’s what I learned the hard way. Don’t spam Common eggs after the first hour.

Early game? Sure, buy Commons to fill slots. But once you have 4-5 brainrots fishing, start saving for better eggs.

One Legendary brainrot outfishes like 8 Commons. The math isn’t even close. Save your coins, wait for the timer, grab that Legendary egg.

My strategy:

  • First hour: Buy Commons to fill all slots
  • Hours 2-5: Save for Rare/Epic eggs only
  • After first rebirth: Legendary and Mythic only

Brainrot Rarities Explained

Your brainrots determine everything. Higher rarity = faster fishing = better fish = more money.

RarityFishing SpeedFish QualityWorth Keeping?
CommonVery slowBasic fishEarly game only
UncommonSlowBasic fishReplace ASAP
RareDecentBetter fishMid-game staple
EpicFastGood fishKeep these
LegendaryVery fastGreat fishDefinitely keep
MythicInsaneBest fishNever delete

I’ve hatched probably 300+ eggs at this point. Got 4 Legendaries and 1 Mythic. The RNG is brutal but that’s idle games for you.

Special Brainrots

Some brainrots have special traits beyond their rarity:

  • Rainbow variants have boosted stats
  • Golden variants earn bonus cash
  • Event brainrots (like The Grinch) have unique abilities

The Grinch brainrot from the Christmas event is actually busted. If you got one, congrats. It outperforms most Legendaries.

Upgrading Your Brainrots

Don’t just hatch and forget. Upgrading is how you actually progress.

To upgrade a brainrot:

  1. Walk up to it
  2. Click the green arrow below its name
  3. Spend cash to level it up

Each level increases:

  • Fishing speed
  • Fish quality caught
  • Cash per fish

Upgrade priority:

  1. Your highest rarity brainrot first
  2. Then work down the list
  3. Don’t waste cash upgrading Commons

I made the mistake of spreading upgrades evenly. Wrong move. One maxed Legendary beats five half-upgraded Rares.

The Fish Index

This is the secret progression system most players miss.

Every fish your brainrots catch gets logged in the Fish Index. When you complete entries, you unlock permanent cash multipliers.

Index MilestoneReward
10 fish types+10% cash
25 fish types+25% cash
50 fish types+50% cash
100 fish types+100% cash

These bonuses are PERMANENT. They survive rebirth. This is why you want diverse brainrots catching different fish types, not just raw income.

Fish Index Tips

  • Higher rarity brainrots catch rarer fish
  • Different brainrots catch different fish types
  • Check your index regularly to see what you’re missing
  • Some fish only appear at certain times or conditions

I’m at 67 fish types currently. The grind to 100 is real but that permanent 2x multiplier is worth it.

The Rebirth System

Rebirth is how you break through plateaus. It wipes your progress but gives permanent bonuses.

What You Lose on Rebirth

  • All your cash
  • All your brainrots
  • Your current upgrades

What You Keep

  • Fish Index progress
  • Permanent multipliers
  • Rebirth bonuses

Rebirth Requirements

Each rebirth needs:

  1. Minimum cash amount
  2. Specific brainrots hatched

Check the Rebirth button to see exact requirements. Don’t rebirth the moment you can. Build up first.

When to Rebirth

My rule: rebirth when progress feels painfully slow.

If you’re earning 10k/minute and the next egg costs 500k, that’s 50 minutes of waiting. After rebirth, your multipliers might cut that to 20 minutes. Worth it.

Rebirth strategy:

  1. Max out your current brainrots first
  2. Complete as much Fish Index as possible
  3. Hit the rebirth requirements
  4. Rebirth
  5. Rush back to where you were (faster this time)
  6. Push further
  7. Repeat

Each rebirth cycle should take you further than the last.

Offline Earnings

The best part of this game. Your brainrots keep fishing when you’re not playing.

But there’s a cap. You can only accumulate so much offline before it stops counting. I learned this after leaving the game for 12 hours expecting billions. Nope. Capped after about 4 hours.

Maximizing Offline Gains

  • Fill all brainrot slots before logging off
  • Prioritize high-rarity brainrots (they earn more per hour)
  • Check back every 3-4 hours if possible
  • Upgrade your offline cap when available

The offline system is generous but not infinite. Plan your sessions around it.

Upgrades Menu

Beyond individual brainrot upgrades, there’s a global upgrades menu. These affect everything:

UpgradeEffect
Better Fishing LuckHigher chance of rare fish
Faster ConveyorReduces egg spawn timers
More SlotsAdditional brainrot capacity
Offline BoostIncreases offline earnings cap

Priority order:

  1. More Slots (more brainrots = more income)
  2. Offline Boost (passive gains are huge)
  3. Faster Conveyor (better eggs faster)
  4. Better Fishing Luck (nice but not essential)

Common Mistakes to Avoid

After watching my friends struggle, here’s what NOT to do:

  1. Spamming Common eggs - Stop after the first hour
  2. Spreading upgrades evenly - Focus on your best brainrots
  3. Ignoring the Fish Index - Those permanent multipliers matter
  4. Rebirthing too early - Build up first
  5. Forgetting offline caps - Check back every few hours
  6. Deleting Mythics for space - Never. Ever.

Quick Progression Checklist

New player speedrun:

  • Buy first egg, hatch it
  • Fill all starting slots with brainrots
  • Upgrade your best brainrot to max
  • Save for Rare+ eggs only
  • Complete Fish Index milestones
  • Hit first rebirth requirements
  • Rebirth
  • Rush back with multipliers
  • Target Legendary/Mythic eggs
  • Repeat

Is My Fishing Brainrots Worth Playing?

Look, it’s an idle game. You’re not here for deep gameplay. You’re here to watch numbers go up while brainrot memes fish for you.

If that sounds appealing? Absolutely worth it. The satisfaction of checking back after a few hours and seeing your coin count explode is real.

If you want active gameplay? This ain’t it. You’ll be bored in 10 minutes.

I play it as a side game. Check in a few times a day, hatch some eggs, close it. Perfect background game.
