Marvel Rivals Tier List (Season 5.5)

400 hours in Marvel Rivals. Diamond rank. Mained support through Season 4 and 5. I’ve seen the meta shift from Luna Snow dominance to the current Gambit chaos. This tier list reflects what’s actually working in ranked right now, not just what looks good on paper.

Season 5.5 shook things up. Gambit arrived and immediately became the best Strategist in the game. Daredevil is still busted. And some heroes that were mid are now genuinely unplayable.

Quick Tier Overview

S-Tier (Broken/Must Pick)

These heroes are either instant bans in competitive or first picks. If you want to climb, learn at least one.

Gambit

The new king of Strategists. Gambit does everything. Heals, buffs, cleanses CC, and deals damage that has no business being on a support. His ult is basically Ana’s Nano Boost from Overwatch, and we all know how busted that is.

I’ve been one-tricking Gambit since he dropped. The skill ceiling is high but the payoff is insane. You can literally carry games as a support now.

Invisible Woman

Sue Storm is the reason Fantastic Four comps are meta. Her survivability is ridiculous. Shields, invisibility, knockback. Good luck killing her. And she still pumps out decent healing while being unkillable.

The piercing main attack is lowkey broken. You’re healing and damaging at the same time. In chaotic teamfights, that value adds up fast.

Rocket Raccoon

Don’t sleep on the raccoon. Battle Rebirth Beacon is a resurrection ability on a support. That alone makes him valuable. The armor packs from the beacon provide consistent sustain that doesn’t require you to babysit your team.

Pairs disgustingly well with Winter Soldier thanks to Ammo Overload.

Doctor Strange

Aggressive tank with a team-wide teleport. In coordinated teams, Strange is terrifying. You portal your whole squad into the backline and it’s over.

The Dark Magic mechanic takes getting used to. Fill it up, dump it with Maelstrom of Madness for massive AoE. Don’t let it overflow or you’re anti-healed and probably dead.

Magneto

Slow, clunky, but hits like a truck. Magneto’s projectiles delete squishies. His Bulwark shields are clutch for protecting yourself or a diving teammate.

The Scarlet Witch team-up (Metallic Fusion) feels mandatory though. Without it, Magneto is missing a huge chunk of his kit.

Hela

Goddess of Death for a reason. Precision-based, so she struggles in close range, but if you can aim? Health bars evaporate. Piercing Night headshots are disgusting.

Her ult clears objectives and saves your life. Just takes practice to not get disoriented while using it.

Magik

My main for two seasons. Melee DPS that actually survives. Every attack gives bonus health, so you’re constantly sustaining through fights. Teleport in, combo, teleport out.

Best paired with another tank like Venom or Magneto who can absorb attention while you delete the backline.

Daredevil

Still broken. The tag and track mechanic is absurd in competitive. You mark someone and your whole team knows exactly where they are. Combine that with his combo potential and you’ve got one of the best Duelists in the game.

Also, his design in this game is chef’s kiss. Best visual interpretation of the character I’ve seen.

A-Tier (Strong Picks)

Solid heroes that work in most comps. Not quite broken, but definitely meta.

Angela

Flying Vanguard with damage, lockdown ult, and displacement. Looked broken on paper, arrived balanced. Still very strong, just not oppressive.

Phoenix

Self-sustain, splash damage, get out of jail free cards. Her ult is amazing for teamfights. Can initiate, counter summons, or provide shields. Versatile.

Emma Frost

Diamond form damage reduction plus illegal damage output. Can 100-to-zero tanks if you land the combo. The catch? Long cooldown on diamond form leaves you vulnerable.

Don’t solo tank with Emma. She’s an off-tank bruiser, not a main tank.

Rogue

High skill floor, high reward. Siphoning power from enemies is nasty, but you need to get in melee range. Her ult steals ult charge. A good Rogue wins teamfights solo.

Luna Snow

Was S-tier, now A-tier. Still the most consistent healer in the game. On-demand healing, damage on precision hits, and Fate of Both Worlds is arguably the best support ult.

Cloak & Dagger

Versatility is their strength. Dagger heals, Cloak manipulates vision. Neither excels alone, but together they’re solid. Just not top tier anymore.

Peni Parker

Low elo stomper reputation, but she’s played in Grandmaster with success. Best anti-dive Vanguard. Traps and utility keep your backline safe. Play her with a proper tank, not solo.

B-Tier (Situational)

These heroes work in specific comps or against specific enemies. Not blind pickable.

Moon Knight

Satisfying to play, solid damage. Ancient Ankh combos can team wipe. Not complex, just consistent.

Venom

800 base health, second wind passive, swing mobility. Hard to kill, deals heavy damage up close. Pair with Magik for dive comp dominance.

Spider-Man

Combo-driven, web-slinging assassin. High skill ceiling. When mastered, he deletes healers and DPS. When not mastered, you feed.

Wolverine

1v1 monster. Rage stacks make him progressively stronger. Great tankbuster. Just don’t get kited.

Iron Fist

Sky-high mobility, devastating combos, self-healing. Perfect dive comp component. Dragon’s Chill team-up with Luna Snow adds CC and more healing.

C-Tier (Struggling)

Playable but outclassed. You’re working harder for less value.

Iron Man

Should be better than he is. Aerial AoE damage is nice, but no burst outside ult. Easy to counter with Punisher.

Hawkeye

Tons of damage and utility. Hunter’s Sight ult is nasty. But the focus mechanic limits his burst potential. Only the best players consistently one-tap squishies.

Scarlet Witch

Fell off hard. Her constant damage gets outhealed. Dark Seal stuns are good in chokes, but that’s about it.

D-Tier (Avoid)

These heroes need buffs. Playing them is handicapping yourself.

Human Torch

Permanent flight is nice. Everything else is mid. Pyro-Prison and Flaming Meteor have potential, but the numbers just aren’t there.

Black Widow

Overwatch Widowmaker comparisons, but worse. Can’t one-tap squishies. Red Room rifle leaves them with a sliver of health. Frustrating to play.

Black Panther

Combo-based melee DPS without the survivability of Magik or the mobility of Spider-Man. Miss one attack in your combo and you’re dead. Not worth the effort.

Team Comp Tips

Best dive comp: Magik + Venom + Luna Snow + Gambit

Best poke comp: Hela + Hawkeye + Invisible Woman + Rocket Raccoon

Best brawl comp: Magneto + Scarlet Witch (team-up) + Emma Frost + Adam Warlock

Fantastic Four comp: Doctor Strange + Invisible Woman + The Thing + Mister Fantastic (all team-ups active)
