What is Domain Expansion
Domain Expansion creates a pocket dimension where your attacks are guaranteed to hit. Inside your domain, enemies can’t dodge, can’t block. You dominate.
Each innate has a unique domain with different effects. Infinity gets Unlimited Void. Star Rage gets its own domain. The effects match your innate’s theme.
Domains are temporary but incredibly powerful. Using one can turn a losing fight into a win.

How to Get Domain Shards
Domain Shards are Unique rarity items. Extremely rare. Here’s how to get them:
From Chests

The boost from Sorcerer Killer and Heian Imaginary Demon is only 1.2x. Still brutal odds.
From Trading
Domain Shards are tradeable. You can buy from other players, but expect to pay a lot.
From Curse Market
The Curse Market in Zen Forest sometimes stocks Domain Shards. Typical exchange rates:

Map Spawns
Domain Shards have a 1/100 server chance to randomly spawn somewhere on the map. Rare but possible.
Farming Strategy
Best approach:
- Farm Sorcerer Killer or Heian Imaginary Demon for the 1.2x boost
- Open chests in bulk
- Check Curse Market regularly
- Trade if you have valuable items
Important tip from the community: Don’t use Lotus Flower items under Legendary rarity when farming. It decreases your Domain Shard chance.
Time estimate: Expect 50-100+ hours of farming. Some people get lucky early. Most don’t.
How to Unlock Domain
Once you have a Domain Shard:
- Reach max level
- Fully master your innate technique
- Go to your Technique menu
- Select the Domain Expansion skill
- Use the Domain Shard to unlock
The shard is consumed. One shard = one domain unlock.
Incomplete Domain (Alternative)
Don’t have a Domain Shard? There’s another option.
Incomplete Domain becomes available after defeating the Sukuna Boss Fight at Level 420.

How to unlock Incomplete Domain:
- Reach Level 420
- Fight Sukuna boss
- At 50% health, a cutscene plays
- After cutscene, you unlock Incomplete Domain
- You enter a domain clash with Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine
This works even with Heavenly Restriction (though cutscene might not trigger).
Domain Counters
Domains aren’t unbeatable. Here’s how to counter:
Simple Domain
Unlocked in the Technique skill tree for 20 stat points. Creates a circle that nullifies domain status effects while inside.
Hollow Wicker Basket
Unlocked for 25 stat points in Technique tree. Makes you immune to domain effects but you can’t use innate techniques while active.
Essential for Sukuna fights. If you don’t have Domain or Simple Domain, take Hollow Wicker Basket.
Domain Clash
If two players activate domains simultaneously, they clash. Winner is determined by:
- Innate rarity
- Mastery level
- Other factors
Losing a clash wastes your domain cooldown.
Using Domain Effectively
Domains have long cooldowns. Use them wisely.
When to use:
- Losing a fight and need comeback
- Secure kill on slippery opponent
- Enemy domain is on cooldown
- Boss burst phase
When NOT to use:
- Against weak enemies (waste)
- Enemy has domain ready (they can clash)
- You’re already winning easily
Domain Tips
Practice timing. Domain activation has animation. Enemies can interrupt.
Save for clutch moments. It’s your trump card.
Learn enemy domains. Know what each does so you can counter.
Bait enemy domains. Make them waste theirs, then punish.
Coordinate in groups. One domain at a time. Don’t overlap.
Post-Domain Vulnerability
After domain ends:
- Cursed energy depleted
- Abilities on extended cooldown
- Can’t activate domain again for a while
Good players punish this window. Play safe after using domain.
Common Mistakes
Thinking there’s a level requirement for Domain Shards. There isn’t. You can get and hold shards at any level.
Not farming the right bosses. Sorcerer Killer and Heian Imaginary Demon have 1.2x boost.
Using Lotus Flowers wrong. Under Legendary rarity decreases Domain Shard chance.
Ignoring Incomplete Domain. It’s free after Sukuna fight. Good alternative.
Not taking Hollow Wicker Basket. Essential for surviving enemy domains.
