Grow a Garden Seed Tier List (2026)

I’ve planted probably every seed in Grow a Garden at this point. Some made me billions. Others were complete wastes of Sheckles that I’m still salty about. This Grow a Garden seed tier list ranks them all so you can skip my expensive mistakes.

Quick reality check: there are over 195 seeds in this game now. Many are event-exclusive and unobtainable. I’m focusing on seeds you can actually get and seeds that actually matter for making money.

The New Year’s Event added the Sparkle Slice Seed and Colorpop Crop Seed. Grab them while the event lasts.

Quick Tier Overview

S+Great Pumpkin, Octobloom, Zebrazinkle, Sparkle SliceHighest base values, insane mutation potential
SCrimson Thorn, Moon Mango, Lilac, Moon BlossomExcellent profit, multi-harvest options
AMango, Sugar Apple, Dragon Fruit, BambooSolid returns, accessible mid-game
BPineapple, Watermelon, Cactus, PassionfruitDecent profit, good stepping stones
CCorn, Tomato, Strawberry, BlueberryStarter seeds, replace ASAP
DCarrot, Basic seedsLiteral waste of garden space

S+ Tier (The Money Printers)

These are endgame seeds. If you can afford them, plant them. No questions.

SeedBase ValueCostTypeNotes
Great Pumpkin210,000 per thornEventSingle (7-8 thorns)Best seed when available
Octobloom288,88833BMulti-harvestHighest value multi-harvest
Zebrazinkle260,00033BSingleSecond highest base value
Sparkle Slice200,000+Event ShopSingleNew Year’s Event exclusive
Colorpop CropEvent7-day loginSingleNew Year’s grand prize

Great Pumpkin is a Transcendent seed producing 7-8 thorns per harvest at 210,000 Sheckles each. That’s 1.47-1.68 million per harvest. Seasonal but absolutely broken when available.

Octobloom is the undisputed king for multi-harvest. 288,888 Sheckles per fruit AND it keeps producing. The 33 billion price tag is insane, but it pays for itself.

Sparkle Slice Seed from the New Year’s Event shop is the newest S+ addition. Get it while the event lasts through January 3rd.

S Tier (Excellent Seeds)

These are your realistic endgame targets. Expensive but obtainable.

SeedBase ValueCostTypeNotes
Crimson Thorn210,000 avg15BSingleMost accessible high-tier
Moon Mango180,000+8BMulti (20 fruits!)Best multi-harvest value
Lilac30,000+10 honeyMulti-harvestCriminally underrated
Moon Blossom150,000+Bee Swarm EventMultiEvent exclusive
Bone Blossom150,000+HalloweenMulti (5 fruits)Halloween exclusive
Foxglove14,000-18,000Seed packsMultiEasy to get, solid returns

Lilac deserves special attention. It costs only 10 honey but sells for 30,000+ per harvest with multi-harvest returns. The “Lilac Method” is a real money-making strategy in the community.

Moon Mango produces up to 20 fruits per tree. Even at “only” 180k per fruit, that’s 3.6 million per plant. Multi-harvest means it keeps producing. Best value seed for most players.

Crimson Thorn is the go-to for single harvest high value. 210k average is no joke, and it’s more accessible than Octobloom or Zebrazinkle.

A Tier (Solid Mid-Game Seeds)

These are your bread and butter once you have some capital.

SeedBase ValueCostTypeNotes
Mango65,000+100,000Multi-harvestBest accessible multi-harvest
Sugar Apple55,000+500,000SingleReliable high value
Dragon Fruit45,000+250,000SingleGood mutation potential
Bamboo35,000+4,000Multi-harvestCheap and effective
Soul Fruit40,000+Divine tierSingleDivine rarity, solid value
Banana30,000+150,000Multi-harvestConsistent producer

Mango is the MVP of mid-game. 100k Sheckles for a seed that keeps producing 65k+ fruits forever? That’s insane value. I ran Mango trees for weeks before upgrading.

Bamboo at only 4,000 Sheckles is criminally underrated. It’s multi-harvest with decent value. Perfect for players transitioning out of starter seeds.

Dragon Fruit has excellent mutation potential. A mutated Dragon Fruit during a Thunderstorm can sell for millions.

B Tier (Good Stepping Stones)

Solid seeds that’ll make you money but aren’t endgame.

SeedBase ValueCostTypeNotes
Pineapple25,000+50,000SingleReliable returns
Watermelon20,000+10,000SingleGood early-mid transition
Cactus18,000+8,000SingleMythical tier, accessible
Passionfruit15,000+5,000SingleDecent value for cost
Coconut12,000+3,000SingleBudget mythical option
Pumpkin10,000+2,000SingleLegendary tier starter

Pineapple was my go-to before I could afford Mango. 50k for a seed that sells for 25k+ means you profit after two harvests with mutations.

Watermelon at 10k is the perfect “I just escaped starter seeds” purchase. Solid value, cheap enough to buy in bulk.

C Tier (Starter Seeds)

Use these to build capital, then upgrade immediately.

SeedBase ValueCostTypeNotes
Corn500+100SingleBest starter seed
Tomato300+50SingleCheap and reliable
Strawberry14+50Multi-harvestOnly good C-tier multi
Blueberry100+75SingleSlightly better than tomato
Peach200+150SingleDecent early option

Corn is the best starter seed. 100 Sheckles, reliable growth, decent value. Plant corn until you can afford Watermelon or Pumpkin.

Strawberry is the only C-tier multi-harvest. At 50 Sheckles it’s worth having a few for the multiple harvest chances at mutations.

D Tier (Avoid)

These exist but you shouldn’t plant them.

SeedWhy It’s Bad
CarrotTerrible value, slow growth
Basic starter seedsLiterally the worst in the game
Most common flowersDecorative only, no profit

I planted carrots for way too long because I thought “cheap seeds = more plants = more money.” Wrong. One Corn plant makes more than five Carrot plants.

Best Seeds by Purpose

Best for Raw Profit

  1. Octobloom (288k per fruit, multi-harvest)
  2. Moon Mango (180k per fruit, 20 fruits per tree)
  3. Zebrazinkle (260k per harvest)
  4. Crimson Thorn (210k average)

Best for Mutations

  1. Great Pumpkin (insane mutated value)
  2. Dragon Fruit (excellent mutation scaling)
  3. Mango (multi-harvest = more mutation chances)
  4. Any S-tier during Thunderstorm/Blood Moon

Best Budget Options

  1. Bamboo (4k, multi-harvest, 35k+ value)
  2. Mango (100k, multi-harvest, 65k+ value)
  3. Watermelon (10k, 20k+ value)
  4. Corn (100, best starter)

Best Multi-Harvest Seeds

  1. Octobloom (288k, Transcendent)
  2. Moon Mango (180k, 20 fruits)
  3. Bone Blossom (150k, 5 fruits)
  4. Mango (65k, consistent)
  5. Bamboo (35k, cheap)
  6. Strawberry (14, starter option)

Multi-harvest seeds are generally better long-term because you buy once and harvest forever.

Seed Progression Path

Here’s the exact order I’d buy seeds if starting over:

  1. Corn (100 Sheckles) - Build initial capital
  2. Strawberry (50) - First multi-harvest
  3. Watermelon (10,000) - First real upgrade
  4. Bamboo (4,000) - Budget multi-harvest
  5. Mango (100,000) - Mid-game staple
  6. Dragon Fruit (250,000) - Mutation farming
  7. Moon Mango (8B) - Endgame multi-harvest
  8. Crimson Thorn (15B) - High value single
  9. Octobloom (33B) - Best seed in game

Skip everything not on this list. I bought dozens of “cool looking” seeds that were objectively worse than cheaper options.

Mutation Math

This is why seed choice matters so much.

Base values with Shocked mutation (100x):

  • Corn: 500 × 100 = 50,000
  • Mango: 65,000 × 100 = 6,500,000
  • Octobloom: 288,888 × 100 = 28,888,800

Same mutation, wildly different results. Always plant your best seeds before weather events.

Stacked mutations (Shocked + Bloodlit = 2,500x):

  • Corn: 500 × 2,500 = 1,250,000
  • Mango: 65,000 × 2,500 = 162,500,000
  • Octobloom: 288,888 × 2,500 = 722,220,000

One Octobloom with double mutations is worth 722 million Sheckles. This is why S+ tier seeds exist.

Common Mistakes

Buying seeds out of order. The progression path exists for a reason. Don’t buy Pineapple when you can’t afford Mango yet.

Ignoring multi-harvest seeds. Single harvest seeds need constant repurchasing. Multi-harvest seeds are investments that keep paying.

Planting expensive seeds during normal weather. Your Octobloom should only touch soil when a Thunderstorm or Blood Moon is coming.

Hoarding event seeds. If you have Great Pumpkin seeds from Halloween, plant them during the next major weather event. They’re not doing anything in your inventory.

Buying cosmetic seeds. Some seeds look cool but have terrible value. Check the numbers before buying.

Event Seeds Worth Chasing

When these events return, prioritize these seeds:

New Year’s Event (Current): Sparkle Slice Seed, Colorpop Crop Seed (7-day login) Halloween: Great Pumpkin, Bone Blossom, Candy Blossom Fall: Maple Resin, Firewell (0.5% chance) Christmas: Spirit Sparkle, Reindeer Root, Peppermint Vine, Gingerbread Blossom Bee Swarm Collab: Moon Blossom, Princess Thorn, Beanstalk, Lilac

Event seeds are often better than shop seeds at similar price points. The New Year’s Event runs until at least January 3rd.
