I’ve used every rod in Fish It. Some are game-changers. Some are coin traps. After 100+ hours and millions of coins spent testing, I know exactly which rods are worth your money.

How to Get	Element Quest (Ancient Jungle)

The best rod in Fish It. Period. 1111% luck is absurd. You’ll catch Legendary fish like they’re commons.

The catch? The Element Quest is brutal. You need to catch elemental fish from every island, collect Element Stones, and complete the Element Trial. This is 50+ hours of grinding minimum.

Worth it if you’re committed to endgame. Skip if you’re casual.

S Tier - Meta Defining

Bamboo Rod

Second-highest luck in the game. With Leprechaun II enchant, you’re looking at 1140% luck. That rivals Element Rod without the quest grind.

The price tag hurts. 12 million coins is a lot. But if you don’t want to do the Element Quest, Bamboo is your endgame rod.

Best enchants: Leprechaun II, Empowered I, Reeler I

Ghostfinn Rod

How to Get	Deep Sea Quest (Free)

Best free rod in the game. The Deep Sea Quest takes 10-20 hours but costs zero coins.

Ghostfinn can catch every fish in the game without enchants. Fast reel speed means less clicking. This is the rod most players should aim for.

Best enchants: Leprechaun II, Big Hunter I, Cursed I (for mutations)

Angler Rod

Similar stats to Ghostfinn but you can buy it instead of questing. If you hate quests and have 8 million coins, Angler is your pick.

Becomes insane with Empowered enchant. The luck boost stacks multiplicatively.

A Tier - Excellent

Astral Rod

The first “real” rod most players buy. 1 million coins sounds like a lot until you realize it’s the gateway to late game.

With Leprechaun II, you hit 525% luck. That’s enough to farm Lost Isle effectively.

Got nerfed recently but still solid. Use it as a stepping stone to Angler or Ghostfinn.

Hazmat Rod

Higher luck and weight than Astral for the same price. The tradeoff is slower speed.

If you’re patient and want to catch heavier fish, Hazmat beats Astral. If you want faster farming, stick with Astral.

Ares Rod

Mythic rod that requires a quest plus 3 million coins. The base stats don’t justify the price, but with Empowered enchant it becomes a monster.

Only get this if you’re skipping straight to Angler/Ghostfinn and need something in between.

B Tier - Good

Chrome Rod

Best budget option for mid-game. Half the price of Astral with decent stats.

Can catch rare and heavy fish. Needs Reeler enchant to fix the slow speed.

Steampunk Rod

Perfect mid-game rod. 175% luck is enough to start catching Legendary fish consistently.

This is where you should start using Luck Potions. The base luck is finally high enough to matter.

Great for catching rare fish early. Good for collecting Enchant Stones at Esoteric Depths.

Low weight stat limits what you can catch. Upgrade to Steampunk when you can afford it.

Midnight Rod

Catches heavier fish with fewer clicks than Lucky Rod. But Lucky Rod has 30% more luck for only 35K more coins.

Get Lucky Rod instead unless you specifically need the weight capacity.

Fluorescent Rod

Cheapest Legendary rod in the game. Almost 300K less than other Legendaries.

The problem? 23% speed. Slowest Legendary rod. You’ll be clicking forever to reel in fish.

Only buy if you’re broke and impatient for Legendary status.

C Tier - Situational

Demascus Rod

Highest luck among early-game rods. Good for catching heavy fish and farming money early.

One of the slowest rods in the game though. Upgrade as soon as you can afford Midnight or Lucky.

Decent luck for early game. The free Lava Rod offers similar stats though.

Free rod with minor luck boost. Better than Starter Rod but becomes obsolete fast.

Get it because it’s free. Replace it immediately.

Luck Rod

Your first upgrade from Starter Rod. The 30% luck boost is noticeable.

Has a rarity and weight cap. You can’t catch Legendary fish with this. Upgrade to Grass or Demascus quickly.

How to Get	Free (Lava Fisherman NPC)

Free rod from talking to the Lava Fisherman at Kohana Volcano. Same stats as Grass Rod but costs nothing.

Always get this. It’s free. But don’t use it past early game.

F Tier - Trash

Zero luck. Zero speed. Can only catch fish up to 10kg.

Replace this immediately. Even the 350 coin Luck Rod is infinitely better.

Carbon Rod

Reduces clicks needed but has terrible luck and weight.

The Luck Rod costs less and has better luck. Skip Carbon entirely.

6. Astral → Ghostfinn Rod (Quest) or Angler (8M)
7. Ghostfinn/Angler → Bamboo (12M) or Element (Quest)

Budget route:

1. Starter → Free Lava Rod
2. Lava → Steampunk (250K)
3. Steampunk → Astral (1M)
