Fish It Guide (2026)

Complete Fish It beginner guide covering all 11 islands, rod progression, fish locations, mutations, enchants, and quest rods. This guide breaks down your first hour to endgame content after 100+ hours of gameplay.

Fish It hit #1 on Roblox with 900K+ concurrent players. I've been grinding this game for about 100 hours now and honestly? I get the hype. The fishing loop is addicting. Cast, catch, upgrade, repeat. My best catch so far is a Robot Kraken worth 15 million coins. Took me 3 hours of camping Lost Isle with Luck Potions active.

This Fish It guide covers everything I wish someone told me when I started. Rods, islands, fish locations, mutations, enchants. The game has layers that aren't obvious at first.

Grab the free Luck Potions from codes before you start. They'll save you hours of grinding.

What is Fish It

You fish. That's it. But the execution is surprisingly deep.

Cast your rod, wait for a bite, reel it in. Simple. But then you find different islands have different fish. Rods have luck stats that affect rare spawns. Mutations can multiply fish value by 10x. Enchants stack bonuses. Boats open new areas.

Suddenly you're optimizing routes, timing potion windows, and camping specific spots for Secret fish worth millions.

Your First Hour

When you spawn on Fisherman Island, here's what to do:

Redeem all codes first. You get 15+ Luck Potions, Mutation Potions, and exclusive baits. Don't waste these on your starter rod though.

Fish at the dock. Catch common fish. Sell everything. You need coins for your first rod upgrade.

Buy the Luck Rod (350 coins). Your first real upgrade. 30% luck boost makes a noticeable difference.

Talk to NPCs. The Lava Fisherman on Kohana Island gives you a free Lava Rod. Free is free.

Don't use potions yet. Save them for when you have a decent rod. Wasting Luck Potions with starter gear is pain.

Rod Progression

Rods are everything in Fish It. Better rods = better luck = rarer fish = more money.

Rod Cost Luck Where to Get
Starter Rod Free 0% Starting gear
Luck Rod 350 30% Joe's Rods
Grass Rod 2,500 50% Joe's Rods
Demascus Rod 15,000 75% Joe's Rods
Midnight Rod 50,000 100% Joe's Rods
Lucky Rod 85,000 130% Joe's Rods
Steampunk Rod 250,000 175% Joe's Rods
Chrome Rod 500,000 229% Joe's Rods
Fluorescent Rod 715,000 300% Joe's Rods
Astral Rod 1,000,000 350% Joe's Rods
Hazmat Rod 1,000,000 380% Joe's Rods
Ares Rod 3,000,000 Quest Mythic Quest
Angler Rod 8,000,000 450% Lost Isle
Ghostfinn Rod Quest 500% Deep Sea Quest
Bamboo Rod 12,000,000 760% Ancient Jungle
Element Rod Quest 1111% Element Quest

Recommended progression: Luck Rod → Demascus → Steampunk → Chrome → Astral → Angler → Ghostfinn

Don't skip straight to expensive rods. The mid-tier grind teaches you the game mechanics.

All Islands & Fish Locations

Fish It has 11 islands, each with unique fish pools. Here's where to find everything:

Fisherman Island (Starter)

Your starting area. Good for learning, bad for money.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Orca Secret 1 in 1.5M
Crystal Crab Secret 1 in 750K
Dotted Stingray Mythic 1 in 91K
Yellowfin Tuna Legendary 1 in 7.5K
Lined Cardinal Fish Epic 1 in 5.5K

The Orca is technically catchable here but don't bother. 1 in 1.5 million casts. You'd be fishing for months.

Kohana Island

Tropical paradise. Great for early farming.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Prismy Seahorse Mythic 1 in 88K
Loggerhead Turtle Mythic 1 in 55K
Lobster Legendary 1 in 25K
Bumblebee Grouper Legendary 1 in 5K

The Loggerhead Turtle sells for good money. Camp here with Luck Potions early game.

Kohana Volcano

Inside the mountain on Kohana Island. Talk to the Lava Fisherman for a free Lava Rod.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Blueflame Ray Mythic 1 in 93K
Lavafin Tuna Legendary 1 in 10K
Firecoal Damsel Epic 1 in 2.5K

Quick XP farming spot. The Volcanic Basslet spawns constantly.

Ocean Region

Open water between islands. Need a boat to access safely.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Hammerhead Shark Mythic 1 in 100K
Manta Ray Mythic 1 in 50K
Chrome Tuna Legendary 1 in 9K
Diamond Ring Legendary 1 in 5K

The Diamond Ring isn't a fish but sells for a lot. RNG blessing.

Coral Reefs

Mid-game farming paradise. High-value fish everywhere.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Monster Shark Secret 1 in 2.5M
Eerie Shark Secret 1 in 250K
Hawks Turtle Mythic 1 in 75K
Blue Lobster Legendary 1 in 25K
Pink Dolphin Legendary 1 in 5K

The Eerie Shark is actually catchable with good luck. I got mine after about 50K casts with Luck Potions.

Esoteric Depths

Deep sea area. This is where you get Enchant Stones.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Abyss Seahorse Mythic 1 in 95K
Magic Tang Legendary 1 in 7.5K
Enchanted Angelfish Legendary 1 in 5K

Enchant Stones drop at 1 in 1,000 casts. Farm here when you need enchants.

Lost Isle

Late-game island. Home to the Kraken and quest fish.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Robot Kraken Secret 1 in 3.5M
King Crab Secret 1 in 1.2M
Kraken Secret 1 in 800K
Queen Crab Secret 1 in 800K
Blob Fish Mythic 1 in 50K

Some fish here are required for the Ghostfinn Rod quest. You'll be spending a lot of time at Lost Isle.

Ancient Jungle (Newest)

The latest island. Mythic predators and the best rod in the game.

Fish Rarity Catch Rate
Ancient Relic Crocodile Mythic 1 in 245K
Crocodile Mythic 1 in 245K
Temple Spokes Tuna Legendary 1 in 5K
Skeleton Angler Fish Mythic 1 in 3K

The Element Rod quest starts here. It's the best rod in the game but requires serious grinding.

Mutations Explained

Mutations are random variants of fish that sell for 5-10x normal price. A mutated Legendary can be worth millions.

How to increase mutation chance:

  • Use Mutation Potions (from codes or shop)
  • Equip Aether Bait (+20% mutation chance)
  • Use the Cursed enchant (-75% luck, +75% mutation)
  • Fish during server events

I've caught 47 mutated fish total. 38 of them were during Mutation Potion windows. The potions work.

Best mutation farming spots:

  1. Coral Reefs (high fish density)
  2. Lost Isle (valuable base fish)
  3. Ancient Jungle (newest fish = less competition)

Enchants Guide

Enchants boost your rod stats. You get Enchant Stones from fishing at Esoteric Depths (1 in 1,000 chance) or buying from other players.

Enchant Effect
Leprechaun I +30% Luck
Leprechaun II +50% Luck
Empowered I +20% Luck, +10% Speed
Big Hunter I +10% Fish Size
Reeler I +7% Reel Speed
Cursed I -75% Luck, +75% Mutation
XPerienced I +50% XP

Best enchant combos:

  • For rare fish: Leprechaun II + Empowered I
  • For mutations: Cursed I + Aether Bait
  • For leveling: XPerienced I + any luck enchant

You can enchant rods at the Enchant Altar on Esoteric Depths island.

Best Baits

Bait matters more than most players realize.

Bait Effect Cost
Dark Matter +160% Luck, +5% XP, +10% Shiny 630K
Aether +240% Luck, +20% Mutation, +20% Shiny 3.7M
Corrupt +180% Luck, +15% Mutation 1.2M

Use Dark Matter for: General farming, XP grinding

Use Aether for: Rare fish hunting, mutation farming

Use code baits for: Early game (they're free and decent)

Money Making Guide

Here's how to actually make coins efficiently:

Early game (0-500K):

  • Fish at Kohana Volcano
  • Sell everything
  • Don't buy expensive rods yet

Mid game (500K-5M):

  • Get Chrome or Astral Rod
  • Farm Coral Reefs
  • Pop Luck Potions for Legendary fish
  • Sell mutated fish for premium

Late game (5M+):

  • Get Angler or Ghostfinn Rod
  • Camp Lost Isle for Secret fish
  • Stack Luck Potions + Aether Bait
  • One Robot Kraken = 15M+ coins

Tip: Join servers during events. Event fish often sell for bonus coins.

Common Mistakes

Using potions too early. Your starter rod has 0% luck. Luck Potions multiply your base luck. 0 x 1.5 = still 0. Wait until you have at least the Steampunk Rod.

Ignoring enchants. A Chrome Rod with Leprechaun II beats an unenchanted Astral Rod. Enchants are multiplicative.

Skipping islands. Each island has unique fish for your Index. Completionists need to visit everywhere.

Not using boats. Boats let you access Ocean regions safely. The basic boat is cheap. Buy it.

Selling Enchant Stones. Keep them. You'll need them later. The market price fluctuates but your rod needs them forever.

Ghostfinn Rod Quest

The Ghostfinn Rod is free but requires completing the Deep Sea Quest. Here's what you need:

  1. Catch specific fish from Lost Isle
  2. Collect quest items from various islands
  3. Complete NPC dialogue chains
  4. Return to the quest giver

The quest takes 10-20 hours depending on RNG. Worth it though. Ghostfinn is one of the best rods in the game.

Element Rod Quest

The Element Rod has 1111% luck. Best rod in the game. The quest starts at the Underground Cellar on Ancient Jungle island.

Requirements:

  • Catch elemental fish from each island
  • Collect Element Stones (rare drops)
  • Complete the Element Trial

This is endgame content. Don't attempt until you have Angler or Ghostfinn Rod.
