Fisch Rod Tier List (January 2026)

I’ve used almost every rod in Fisch across 300+ hours of gameplay. Some are worth every coin. Others are complete traps that’ll waste your money. This tier list ranks them all so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.

Quick note: there are 80+ rods in this game. I’m focusing on the ones that actually matter for progression. Nobody needs a tier ranking of every joke rod.

S-Tier (The Best Rods)

These are the rods you should be working toward. No debate.

RodLure SpeedLuckWeightPrice/Unlock
No-Life Rod90%100%InfiniteLevel 500
Rod of the Depths65%130%30,000 KG$750,000
Trident Rod20%150%6,000 KG$150,000
King’s Rod-45%120%80,000 KG$500,000
Kraken Rod35%85%50,000 KG$350,000
Poseidon Rod40%95%40,000 KG$400,000
Heaven’s Rod50%90%25,000 KG$300,000
Mythical Rod30%70%15,000 KG$110,000

No-Life Rod is the undisputed king. Infinite weight means you can catch literally anything. 100% luck is insane. But Level 500 is hundreds of hours of grinding. This is true endgame.

Rod of the Depths has the highest luck in the game at 130%. If you’re hunting mythical fish, this is your weapon. The $750k price tag hurts but it’s worth it.

Trident Rod is the best value S-tier rod. 150% luck for only $150k? That’s a steal. The low lure speed is annoying but the luck makes up for it.

Mythical Rod is the gateway to S-tier. At $110k it’s accessible mid-game and the 70% luck stat is enough to start hunting rare fish seriously. This was my main rod for probably 100 hours.

A-Tier (Excellent Rods)

Solid rods that’ll serve you well. Not quite S-tier but nothing to complain about.

RodLure SpeedLuckWeightPrice/Unlock
Volcanic Rod45%60%12,000 KG$85,000
Aurora Rod40%55%10,000 KG$70,000
Tempest Rod55%45%8,000 KG$60,000
Long Rod35%40%5,000 KG$25,000

Volcanic Rod is the best A-tier option. Good balance of stats and the 12,000 KG weight limit handles most fish.

Long Rod is the budget king. At $25k it’s affordable early-mid game and the stats are respectable. I used this for way longer than I should have.

B-Tier (Good Rods)

These get the job done. Not exciting but functional.

RodLure SpeedLuckWeightPrice/Unlock
Steady Rod25%25%2,500 KG$5,000
Carbon Rod30%30%3,000 KG$15,000
Reinforced Rod20%20%2,000 KG$8,000

Steady Rod is the most important B-tier rod. It’s your first “real” rod and it can technically catch anything in the game. The stats are low but the price is right. Every player should own this.

C-Tier (Mediocre Rods)

Skip these if you can. They exist but there’s always a better option.

RodLure SpeedLuckWeightPrice/Unlock
Plastic Rod15%10%500 KG$500
Wooden Rod10%5%300 KG$200
Basic Rod5%5%200 KG$100

These are stepping stones. Buy them, use them briefly, replace them. Don’t invest in upgrades or enchants.

D-Tier (Avoid)

Trap rods. Either overpriced for their stats or have gimmicks that sound cool but don’t work in practice.

RodWhy It’s Bad
Joke RodsLiterally joke items with terrible stats
Event-Exclusive RodsOften worse than buyable alternatives
Early Merchant RodsOverpriced for what you get

I wasted $30k on a “special” rod from a limited merchant that turned out to be worse than the Long Rod. Learn from my pain.

Best Rods by Purpose

Different situations call for different rods.

Best for Grinding XP:

  1. No-Life Rod (if you have it)
  2. Tempest Rod (high lure speed)
  3. Volcanic Rod (good balance)

Lure speed is king for grinding. More bites per minute equals more XP per hour.

Best for Hunting Legendaries:

  1. Rod of the Depths (130% luck)
  2. Trident Rod (150% luck)
  3. Mythical Rod (70% luck, budget option)

Luck is everything when you’re targeting specific rare fish. I’ve spent hours fishing for legendaries with low-luck rods. Don’t do that.

Best for Heavy Fish:

  1. No-Life Rod (infinite weight)
  2. King’s Rod (80,000 KG)
  3. Kraken Rod (50,000 KG)

Some fish are literally uncatchable without enough weight capacity. The Mariana’s Veil fish especially.

Best Budget Options:

  1. Mythical Rod ($110k, S-tier stats)
  2. Long Rod ($25k, solid A-tier)
  3. Steady Rod ($5k, gets the job done)

Optimal Progression Path

Here’s the exact order I’d buy rods if I started over:

  1. Flimsy Rod (free, starting rod)
  2. Plastic Rod ($500, quick upgrade)
  3. Steady Rod ($5,000, your first real rod)
  4. Long Rod ($25,000, solid mid-game)
  5. Mythical Rod ($110,000, gateway to endgame)
  6. Trident Rod ($150,000, legendary hunting)
  7. Rod of the Depths ($750,000, true endgame)

Skip everything else. Seriously. I bought like 15 rods I never used because they seemed cool. Waste of money.

Enchanting Priority

Once you have a good rod, enchants matter more than the rod itself.

For Grinding: Hasty enchant. More lure speed equals more fish.

For Hunting: Lucky enchant. Stack luck on top of already high luck rods.

For Heavy Fish: Heavyweight enchant. Increases weight limit.

I run two Mythical Rods. One with Hasty for grinding, one with Lucky for hunting. Best setup until you can afford the S-tier rods.

Common Mistakes

Buying rods out of order. The progression path exists for a reason. Skipping steps wastes money.

Ignoring weight limits. I lost so many fish because my rod couldn’t handle them. Check weight limits before fishing new areas.

Not enchanting. A Mythical Rod with Hasty beats an unenchanted Volcanic Rod for grinding. Enchants are that important.

Chasing event rods. Most event rods are cosmetic or worse than buyable alternatives. Don’t grind events for rods unless you’ve confirmed they’re actually good.
