Fisch has over 15 locations spread across the ocean, and I’ve explored every single one. Some are obvious. Others took me hours to find. This guide covers every location, how to unlock it, and whether it’s actually worth your time.
Here’s the thing about Fisch locations: they’re not all created equal. Some islands are essential for progression. Others are tourist traps that waste your time. I’ll tell you which is which.
Starting Locations
These are available from the start or unlock early.
Moosewood (Spawn Island)
Coordinates: 0, 135, 0 (spawn point) Unlock: Free, starting location Best For: Absolute beginners only
This is where everyone starts. You’ll fish here for maybe 30 minutes before you should leave. The fish are low value and the XP is terrible.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Bass | Common | ~40 C$ |
| Trout | Common | ~35 C$ |
| Salmon | Common | ~50 C$ |
| Catfish | Uncommon | ~80 C$ |
NPCs:
- Pierre (starter quests)
- Merchant (sells basic rods, buys fish)
My Take: Get to Level 10 and leave. I spent way too long here my first playthrough. Don’t make my mistake.
Roslit Bay
Coordinates: -1305, 130, 310 Unlock: Level 10 + Boat Best For: Early-mid game grinding
This is your first real fishing spot. The fish here are actually worth catching and you can access the Submarine Depot for later content.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Manta Ray | Uncommon | ~500 C$ |
| Nurse Shark | Rare | ~600 C$ |
| Bull Shark | Rare | ~800 C$ |
| Angel Fish | Uncommon | ~300 C$ |
NPCs:
- Merchant (better rods)
- Dr. Glimmerfin (submarine questline)
- Boat Dealer
My Take: This is where the game actually starts. I spent probably 50 hours here before moving on. The sharks at night are solid money.
The Ocean
Coordinates: Everywhere between islands Unlock: Boat Best For: Travel, occasional rare spawns
The open ocean has its own fish pool. You can catch stuff while sailing between islands.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Tuna | Uncommon | ~150 C$ |
| Swordfish | Rare | ~700 C$ |
| Flying Fish | Common | ~60 C$ |
My Take: Don’t specifically farm here, but cast your line while traveling. Free fish is free fish.
Mid-Game Locations
These require some progression to access.
Sunstone Island
Coordinates: 1200, 135, -800 Unlock: Boat + sail there Best For: Unique fish, quests
A desert-themed island with its own fish pool. Not the best for money but has some unique catches.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Sunfish | Uncommon | ~400 C$ |
| Desert Eel | Rare | ~600 C$ |
| Sandshark | Rare | ~750 C$ |
My Take: Visit for the bestiary completion. Not a main farming spot.
Snowcap Island
Coordinates: -500, 135, -1200 Unlock: Boat + sail there Best For: Cold water fish, winter events
Ice-themed island. Good for specific fish but not a money maker.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Arctic Cod | Common | ~100 C$ |
| Ice Fish | Uncommon | ~350 C$ |
| Polar Bear Fish | Rare | ~800 C$ |
My Take: The Fischmas event made this more relevant. Otherwise, skip unless you need bestiary entries.
Terrapin Island
Coordinates: 800, 135, 600 Unlock: Boat + sail there Best For: Turtle-themed fish, chill vibes
Turtle island. Literally. The fish here are turtle-adjacent.
My Take: Completionists only. The fish values aren’t great.
Mushgrove Swamp
Coordinates: -1800, 135, 800 Unlock: Boat + sail there Best For: Swamp fish, access to The Arch
Spooky swamp area. Has some unique fish and is near The Arch secret location.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Swamp Eel | Uncommon | ~400 C$ |
| Mudfish | Common | ~150 C$ |
| Gator Fish | Rare | ~900 C$ |
My Take: Worth visiting for The Arch nearby. The Gator Fish is decent money.
Late-Game Locations
These require significant progression or special requirements.
Statue of Sovereignty
Coordinates: -2000, 135, -500 Unlock: Boat + sail there Best For: Keepers Altar (enchanting)
This island has the Keepers Altar where you enchant rods. Essential for endgame.
How to Access Keepers Altar:
- Find the mines on the island
- Locate the NPC next to the elevator
- Bribe him with 400 C$
- Enter the altar
My Take: You’ll visit this constantly for enchanting. The fishing here is mid but the altar is essential.
Ancient Isle
Coordinates: 2500, 135, 1000 Unlock: Boat + Four Fragments Best For: Megalodon hunts, Ancient Archives
This is where the Megalodon spawns during hunt events. Also has the Ancient Archives dungeon.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Ancient Coelacanth | Legendary | ~4,000 C$ |
| Megalodon | Exotic | ~15,000 C$ |
| Phantom Megalodon | Exotic | ~17,500 C$ |
How to Unlock:
- Collect all four fragments (scattered across islands)
- Bring them to Ancient Isle
- Complete the unlock sequence
My Take: The Megalodon hunts are the highlight. When you see “A Megalodon has been sighted behind Ancient Isle” in chat, drop everything and go.
Forsaken Shores
Coordinates: -2425, 135, 1555 Unlock: Boat + sail there Best For: Captain’s Goldfish, Scylla access
Pirate-themed island with a skull cave. This is where the real money is.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Captain’s Goldfish | Mythical | ~5,000 C$ |
| Mossjaw | Legendary | ~3,500 C$ |
| Elder Mossjaw | Legendary | ~8,000 C$ |
| Pirate Fish | Rare | ~1,000 C$ |
Key Spots:
- Forsaken Shores Pond - Captain’s Goldfish spawns here. My main farming spot.
- Skull Cave - Leads to deeper areas
My Take: This became my home after I discovered the pond. Captain’s Goldfish is consistent money without the RNG of boss fights.
Endgame Locations
These require submarines, boss defeats, or extensive progression.
Mariana’s Veil
Coordinates: Underwater, accessed from Roslit Bay Unlock: Build submarine + complete questline Best For: Best money in the game
This is the endgame area. Multiple layers, puzzles, and the Scylla boss.
Layers:
- Surface Layer - Entry point
- Twilight Zone - Mid-depth fish
- Midnight Zone - Rare spawns
- Calm Zone - Puzzles to solve
- Veil of the Forsaken - Scylla boss area
How to Access:
- Go to Dr. Glimmerfin at Roslit Bay (-1320, 130, 300)
- Start the submarine questline
- Build your submarine (requires parts)
- Dive into Mariana’s Veil
- Progress through each layer
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Abyssal Lurker | Legendary | ~6,000 C$ |
| Deep Sea Angler | Rare | ~2,000 C$ |
| Scylla | Mythical | ~140,000 C$ |
My Take: This is where you’ll spend most of your endgame. The Veil of the Forsaken after beating Scylla is the best money farm in the game. I average 500K+ C$ per hour here.
Boreal Pines (NEW)
Coordinates: Northern region Unlock: Boat + sail north Best For: New content, Frostwyrm
The newest location added in the December 2024 update. Winter-themed with 12 new fish.
| Fish Available | Rarity | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Frostwyrm | Mythical | ~10,000 C$ |
| Frostbite Shark | Legendary | ~4,500 C$ |
| Arctic Char | Rare | ~900 C$ |
| Frozen Carp | Common | ~200 C$ |
Requirements:
- Cold resistance (or take damage)
- Good rod for Frostwyrm
My Take: Fresh content with decent rewards. The Frostwyrm only spawns during blizzards. I’ve caught 3 so far.
Secret Locations
Hidden spots that most players miss.
The Arch
Coordinates: Near Mushgrove Swamp Unlock: Find it + 70% bestiary completion Best For: Destiny Rod
Caleia NPC sells the Destiny Rod here for 190,000 C$. But you need 70% bestiary completion first.
My Take: Worth the grind for the Destiny Rod. It’s one of the best in the game.
Desolate Deep
Coordinates: Deep underwater Unlock: Submarine + exploration Best For: Rare deep sea fish
Hidden underwater area with unique spawns.
My Take: Good for bestiary completion. Not a main farming spot.
Limited-Time Locations
These only appear during events.
Winter Village (Fischmas 2024)
Unlock: Magical Snow Globe (spawns in inventory during event) Best For: Event fish, Santa quests
The current Fischmas event location. Has unique fish and the Santa questline.
NPCs:
- Santa (-160, 365, 9500) - Starts Santa’s Quest
- Merchant (-75, 365, 9500) - Buys fish
My Take: Grind this while it’s available. Event fish are often valuable for trading.
