After 300+ hours in Fisch, I’ve caught thousands of fish. Some made me rich. Others were a complete waste of time. This tier list ranks every fish worth targeting so you stop wasting bait on garbage catches.
Quick reality check: not all fish are created equal. A single Scylla sells for more than 100 common fish combined. Knowing what to target at each location is the difference between grinding for weeks and actually progressing.
S-Tier Fish (The Money Makers)
These fish will make you rich. Target them whenever possible.
| Fish | Location | Sell Price | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scylla | Forsaken Shores | ~140,000 C$ | Mythical |
| Phantom Megalodon | Ancient Isle | ~17,500 C$ | Exotic |
| Megalodon | Ancient Isle | ~15,000 C$ | Exotic |
| Nessie | Frightful Pool | ~12,000 C$ | Mythical |
| Elder Mossjaw | Forsaken Shores | ~8,000 C$ | Legendary |
| Frostwyrm | Boreal Pines | ~10,000 C$ | Mythical |
Scylla is the undisputed king. 140,000 C$ per catch. But here’s the thing, you need to beat the Scylla boss fight first to unlock the fishing spot. I died probably 20 times before I got it down. Worth it though.
Phantom Megalodon spawns during Megalodon Hunt events behind Ancient Isle. Look for the red storm clouds. I’ve caught maybe 5 total in 300 hours. They’re rare but the payout is insane.
Nessie appears in Frightful Pools during special events. The orange marker on your map shows where. Easier to catch than Scylla but still requires decent gear.
A-Tier Fish (Excellent Returns)
Solid money makers that are more consistent than S-tier.
| Fish | Location | Sell Price | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Captain’s Goldfish | Forsaken Shores Pond | ~5,000 C$ | Mythical |
| Mossjaw | Forsaken Shores | ~3,500 C$ | Legendary |
| Ancient Coelacanth | Ancient Isle | ~4,000 C$ | Legendary |
| Abyssal Lurker | Mariana’s Veil | ~6,000 C$ | Legendary |
| Frostbite Shark | Boreal Pines | ~4,500 C$ | Legendary |
Captain’s Goldfish is my favorite farm. It’s in the Forsaken Shores Pond, not the main ocean area. Mythical rarity but way easier to catch than other mythicals. I grind this spot when I need quick cash.
Mossjaw is the consolation prize when hunting Elder Mossjaw. Still pays out 3,500 C$ which is nothing to sneeze at.
B-Tier Fish (Good Value)
These won’t make you rich overnight but they’re worth catching.
| Fish | Location | Sell Price | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bull Shark | Roslit Bay | ~800 C$ | Rare |
| Nurse Shark | Roslit Bay | ~600 C$ | Rare |
| Manta Ray | Roslit Bay | ~500 C$ | Uncommon |
| Swordfish | Ocean | ~700 C$ | Rare |
| Giant Squid | The Depths | ~1,200 C$ | Rare |
| Arctic Char | Boreal Pines | ~900 C$ | Rare |
Bull Shark is the early-mid game money maker. Roslit Bay is accessible early and Bull Sharks spawn consistently. I farmed these for probably 30 hours before moving to better spots.
Giant Squid in The Depths is solid if you have diving gear. Consistent spawns and decent value.
C-Tier Fish (Filler)
Catch these while waiting for better spawns. Don’t specifically target them.
| Fish | Location | Sell Price | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salmon | Moosewood | ~50 C$ | Common |
| Bass | Moosewood | ~40 C$ | Common |
| Trout | Moosewood | ~35 C$ | Common |
| Tuna | Ocean | ~150 C$ | Uncommon |
| Halibut | Roslit Bay | ~200 C$ | Uncommon |
These are your bread and butter early game. Nothing exciting but they pay the bills until you can access better locations.
D-Tier Fish (Skip)
Not worth your time unless you’re completing the bestiary.
| Fish | Location | Why Skip |
|---|---|---|
| Tiny Fish | Everywhere | Sells for like 5 C$ |
| Jellyfish | Various | Low value, annoying to catch |
| Starfish | Shallow water | Basically worthless |
| Sea Cucumber | Ocean floor | Time waste |
I caught hundreds of these early on because I didn’t know better. Don’t be me.
Best Fish by Location
Here’s what to target at each spot.
Moosewood (Early Game)

- Target: Bull Shark, Nurse Shark, Manta Ray

- Best time: Night for sharks
The Depths (Mid-Late Game)
- Target: Giant Squid, Deep Sea fish
- Skip: Surface fish
- Requires: Diving equipment
Ancient Isle (Late Game)
- Target: Megalodon (during events), Ancient Coelacanth
- Skip: Common spawns
- Best time: During Megalodon Hunt events
Forsaken Shores (Endgame)
- Target: Scylla, Captain’s Goldfish, Elder Mossjaw
- Skip: Nothing here is bad
- Requires: Beat Scylla boss first
Mariana’s Veil (Endgame)
- Target: Abyssal Lurker, Deep sea legendaries
- Skip: Surface fish
- Requires: Submarine
Boreal Pines (New)
- Target: Frostwyrm, Frostbite Shark, Arctic Char
- Skip: Common frozen fish
- Requires: Cold resistance gear
Mutations Multiply Value
Here’s something most guides don’t mention. Mutations can multiply a fish’s value by 2-5x.
| Mutation | Value Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Shiny | 1.5x |
| Sparkling | 2x |
| Albino | 2.5x |
| Darkened | 2x |
| Aurora | 3x |
| Atlantean | 3x |
A Sparkling Bull Shark is worth more than a regular Swordfish. Keep this in mind when deciding what to sell.
The Trident Rod gives 30% of your catches the Atlantean mutation. That’s a 3x value boost on almost a third of your fish. Insane value.
My Personal Farming Route
After hundreds of hours, here’s my optimized route:
- Start at Forsaken Shores Pond - Farm Captain’s Goldfish for 30-60 minutes
- Check for Megalodon Hunt - If active, rush to Ancient Isle
- Scylla runs - If I’m feeling lucky, attempt Scylla boss
- Boreal Pines - New content, good XP and decent money
- Back to Forsaken Shores - Repeat
I average about 500K C$ per hour with this route. Your mileage may vary depending on rod and enchants.
Quick Tips
Save rare baits for S-tier fish. I wasted so many Kraken Tentacle baits on common fish before I learned this lesson.
Use the Fish Radar. It shows where rare fish are spawning. Game changer for hunting specific catches.
Night time spawns different fish. Some legendaries only appear at night. Check the wiki for specific spawn conditions.
Weather matters. Rain, storms, and special weather events change what spawns. The Frostwyrm in Boreal Pines only appears during blizzards.
