Bomb Hybrid is the best build in Devil Hunter right now. Massive AOE damage, Bomb Kick utility, and versatility in every situation. For Humans, Violent Devil's unparryable grab bypasses all defenses. Angel Fiend is the only S-tier Fiend with flight and ranged damage.
After 40+ hours in the public playtest, I've tested most builds and gotten destroyed by the ones I haven't. The meta is clear: unparryable attacks, i-frames, and percentage-based damage beat everything else.
Quick Tier Overview
| Category | S-Tier | A-Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Hybrids | Bomb, Chainsaw, Flamethrower | Katana Man, Gun Devil |
| Contracts | Violent, Ghost, Future | Fox, Snake, Blood |
| Fiends | Angel | Power, Violence |
S-tier dominates ranked PvP. A-tier is competitive but has clear weaknesses. Anything below B-tier needs a buff or you need to be significantly more skilled than your opponent.
Hybrid Tier List
Hybrids are humans who merged with a devil. They're the strongest builds in the game right now.
S-Tier Hybrids
| Hybrid | Why It's S-Tier |
|---|---|
| Bomb | Best overall. Massive AOE, Bomb Kick utility, works everywhere |
| Chainsaw | High damage, good mobility, iconic Chainsaw Man feel |
| Flamethrower | Unblockable burn damage. Counters the parry meta hard |
Bomb Hybrid is what I run. The AOE clears groups in PvE and the Bomb Kick has so much utility in PvP. You can engage, disengage, and zone with one move.
Flamethrower is the parry counter. Everyone knows how to press G. Flamethrower doesn't care. Burn damage goes through blocks and forces opponents to play your game.
Chainsaw has the highest raw damage. If you land your combos, nothing survives. The mobility lets you stick to targets.
A-Tier Hybrids
| Hybrid | Why It's A-Tier |
|---|---|
| Katana Man | High skill ceiling, rewarding when you hit spacing |
| Gun Devil | Ranged pressure, zone control, forces approaches |
Katana Man is a skill check. If you're good at spacing and timing, it's borderline S-tier. If you miss, you get punished hard. I've seen Katana players dominate lobbies and I've seen them go 0-10.
Gun Devil is the only ranged Hybrid. Zone control is valuable, but you struggle when enemies close the gap.
B-Tier and Below
| Hybrid | Issue |
|---|---|
| Whip | Decent range but outclassed by S-tiers |
| Shield | Defensive playstyle doesn't fit the aggressive meta |
If you're running Shield Hybrid, you're handicapping yourself. The meta rewards aggression and bypassing defenses, not turtling.
Devil Contract Tier List
Contracts are for Human players. You sacrifice body parts or resources for devil powers.
S+ Tier Contract
Violent Devil is in a league of its own.
| Contract | Why It's Broken |
|---|---|
| Violent Devil | Unparryable grab bypasses damage reduction and blocks |
The grab attack ignores everything. Parry? Doesn't matter. Defense stacking? Doesn't matter. If you want to compete with Hybrids as a Human, you need Violent Devil. I got destroyed by Violent Devil users until I understood why. Now I run it.
Requires First Class Hunter rank to access.
S-Tier Contracts
| Contract | Strength |
|---|---|
| Ghost Devil | Grab/slam combo, best distance control in the game |
| Future Devil | Auto-dodge passive, i-frame counter with Future Sight |
Ghost Devil lets you control exactly where fights happen. The grab into slam combo is unmatched for setting up damage. I've seen Ghost Devil users win fights they had no business winning just through positioning.
Future Devil is broken for duels. Auto-dodge means attacks randomly miss you. Future Sight gives i-frames while you counter. High-level PvP players swear by it.
Both require grinding. Ghost is a 10% raid boss drop. Future requires high rank and a rhythm game.
A-Tier Contracts
| Contract | Strength |
|---|---|
| Fox Devil | One-shot combo potential, massive hitbox, instant startup |
| Snake Devil | Swallow enemies, unique utility, summon control |
| Blood Devil | Best sustain for PvE, farm Zombie Raids forever |
Fox Devil + Katana is a classic combo. The hitbox is huge and the startup is instant. If you land it, they're dead. I ran Fox Devil for my first 20 hours before switching to Ghost.
Blood Devil is the PvE king. Life steal means you never need to stop farming. Not great for PvP but unmatched for grinding.
B-Tier Contracts
| Contract | Use Case |
|---|---|
| Frog Devil | Budget Fox, easier to get |
| Bat Devil | Best starter, flight + AOE |
| Mantis Devil | Fast attacks, decent early |
Bat Devil is what I recommend for new players. No permanent body part sacrifice, gives you flight for exploration, and the AOE is solid. Use it until you can get something better.
C-Tier and Below
| Contract | Issue |
|---|---|
| Sea Cucumber | Defensive buffs don't matter in aggressive meta |
| Leech Devil | Life drain is too slow |
| Tomato Devil | Healing is outclassed by Blood Devil |
Don't waste RC Cells on these. Save for A-tier or higher.
Fiend Tier List
Fiends are devils who took over a human corpse. You pick one type and commit permanently.
S-Tier Fiend
| Fiend | Why It's S-Tier |
|---|---|
| Angel Fiend | Flight, long-range damage, best mobility in the game |
Angel Fiend is the only S-tier. Flight gives you advantages no other Fiend can match. You can engage from angles others can't reach, escape when needed, and poke with ranged damage.
If you're going Fiend, reroll until you get Angel. Use loot boxes from sabotage missions or spend ~400k Cash at the Black Market. Make sure you're in Fiend form before rerolling.
A-Tier Fiends
| Fiend | Strength |
|---|---|
| Power Fiend | Scales with Fear system, strong late game |
| Violence Fiend | Good damage, solid all-around |
Power Fiend gets stronger as you build Fear by hunting humans and NPCs. Late game it's competitive, but the ramp-up time hurts.
B-Tier and Below
Everything else is outclassed. If you rolled something other than Angel, Power, or Violence, consider whether you want to commit or reroll.
Meta Analysis
The current meta rewards three things:
1. Unparryable attacks Everyone knows how to parry. The best builds have moves that ignore it. Violent Devil grab, Flamethrower burn, certain Hybrid moves.
2. I-frame abuse Invincibility frames during attacks mean you can hit them but they can't hit you. Future Devil's Future Sight is the best example. Bomb Kick has i-frames too.
3. Percentage-based damage Raw damage numbers matter less than damage that scales with opponent HP. Blood damage and certain contract abilities shred tanky builds.
If your build doesn't have at least one of these, you're fighting uphill.
Best Builds by Playstyle
| Playstyle | Recommended Build |
|---|---|
| Aggressive PvP | Bomb Hybrid or Chainsaw Hybrid |
| Counter-fighter | Future Devil + Katana |
| Zone control | Gun Devil Hybrid or Ghost Devil |
| PvE farming | Blood Devil or Bat Devil |
| New player | Bat Devil → Fox Devil → Ghost Devil |
Common Mistakes
Spreading contracts thin. Pick 1-2 contracts and max them. A focused build beats a scattered one.
Ignoring weapon combos. Fox Devil needs Katana. Ghost Devil needs grab follow-ups. Match your contract to your weapon.
Going Fiend too early. It's permanent. Make sure you want that playstyle forever. I've seen players regret it within hours.
Chasing S-tier without the skill. Katana Man is S-tier in the right hands and D-tier in the wrong ones. Pick something that matches your skill level.
