Break a Lucky Block is a tycoon where you smash Lucky Blocks, dodge a giant brainrot named Sammy, and collect brainrots for your base. The Invisibility Cloak is the best gear. Disco Pickaxe is the mid-game goal. Rebirth after buying the best pickaxe you can afford.
I've put 40+ hours into this game since it hit 75K concurrent players. The loop is simple but addictive: run into the arena, break blocks before Sammy catches you, grab the brainrots that spawn, and bring them back to your base. Your brainrots generate cash per second, which you spend on better pickaxes and gears.
How the Game Works
You spawn with a small base plot and a Wood Pickaxe. The arena in the center has Lucky Blocks of different rarities. Sammy patrols the arena and kills you on contact.
The core loop:
- Enter the arena
- Break Lucky Blocks with your pickaxe
- Grab brainrots that spawn from broken blocks
- Return to your base before Sammy catches you
- Place brainrots on your plot to generate cash
- Buy better pickaxes and gears
- Rebirth for permanent bonuses
Simple concept, but the execution matters. Knowing when to push for one more block versus retreating safely is the difference between fast progression and constant deaths.
Controls
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD |
| Break Block | Hold Left Click |
| Pick Up Brainrot | Walk over it |
| Place Brainrot | Click on base plot |
| Use Gear | E |
| Lock Base | L |
Hold click on blocks, don't spam. Your pickaxe has a rhythm. Holding deals consistent damage. Clicking repeatedly actually slows you down.
First Hour Strategy
Starting Out
You spawn with the Wood Pickaxe (1 Power). It's garbage, but everyone starts here.
Run into the arena and break Normal Blocks only. They have low HP and your Wood Pickaxe can handle them. Ignore the rarer blocks for now since you can't break them fast enough before Sammy gets you.
Grab any brainrot that spawns and sprint back to base. Place it on your plot. It starts generating cash immediately.
First Purchases
Buy order matters. Here's what I recommend:
- Stone Pickaxe (1K) - 5x better than Wood
- Speed Coil (25K) - Escape Sammy easier
- Iron Pickaxe (10K) - Break blocks faster
- Invisibility Cloak (50K) - This changes everything
The Invisibility Cloak should be your first major goal. Once you have it, Sammy walks right past you. Farm blocks at your own pace.
Avoiding Sammy
Before you get the Invisibility Cloak, Sammy is your biggest threat. He patrols the arena in patterns.
Sammy tips:
- He moves in predictable paths. Watch for a few seconds before entering.
- He speeds up when he spots you. Don't try to outrun him without Speed Coil.
- He can't enter your base. If he's chasing you, just run home.
- He resets position after killing someone. Use that window to grab blocks.
I died probably 50 times before I learned his patterns. Now I can dodge him without gear, but the Invisibility Cloak makes it trivial.
Block Types and Rarities
Not all blocks are equal. Higher rarity blocks have more HP but drop better brainrots.
| Block | HP | Brainrot Quality | Spawn Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal Block | Low | Common | Everywhere |
| Angel Block | Medium | Uncommon/Rare | Common |
| Block God | High | Rare/Epic | Uncommon |
| Secret Block | Very High | Epic/Legendary | Rare |
Break two adjacent blocks together. Brainrots spawn faster when you break blocks next to each other. I didn't figure this out until my third rebirth. Would've saved hours.
Secret Blocks
Secret Blocks are the jackpot. They spawn randomly and everyone rushes them. The brainrots from Secret Blocks are worth 10-50x more than Normal Block drops.
When you see one spawn:
- Drop everything and go for it
- Use your gear (Invisibility Cloak or Speed Coil)
- Accept that other players will compete for it
- Even getting one brainrot from a Secret Block is worth dying for
I've seen three Secret Blocks in 40 hours. Got loot from two of them. Both times it was worth more than an hour of normal farming.
Pickaxe Progression
Your pickaxe determines everything. Higher power = faster block breaking = more brainrots per run.
| Pickaxe | Power | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wood | 1 | Free | Starting gear, replace ASAP |
| Stone | 5 | 1K | First upgrade |
| Iron | 15 | 10K | Solid early game |
| Gold | 35 | 50K | Can handle Angel Blocks |
| Diamond | 75 | 250K | Mid-game standard |
| Disco | 150 | 1M | Best value pickaxe |
| Galaxy | 300 | 5M | Endgame |
| Void | 500 | 25M | Post-rebirth goal |
Disco Pickaxe is the sweet spot. It's expensive but the power jump from Diamond is massive. I farmed with Disco for three rebirths before upgrading to Galaxy. The Pickaxe Tier List has the full breakdown on when to buy each one.
Gear Guide
Gears give you abilities. You can only equip one at a time.
| Gear | Effect | Cost | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Speed Coil | +50% movement speed | 25K | B |
| Gravity Coil | Higher jumps | 25K | C |
| Fusion Coil | Speed + Gravity | 100K | A |
| Invisibility Cloak | Sammy can't see you | 50K | S |
| Heart Balloon | Survive one hit | 75K | B |
Invisibility Cloak is S-tier. Nothing else comes close. Sammy walks right past you. You can break blocks at your own pace without any pressure.
Fusion Coil is good for speedrunning between base and arena, but the Invisibility Cloak's safety is more valuable for consistent farming.
Rebirth System
Rebirthing resets your cash, pickaxes, and placed brainrots. In exchange, you get permanent bonuses.
Rebirth Rewards
| Rebirth | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | Larger base plot |
| 2 | +25% cash multiplier |
| 3 | Access to better pickaxes |
| 4 | +50% cash multiplier |
| 5 | Even larger base |
| 6+ | Scaling bonuses |
When to Rebirth
Rebirth when you've bought the best pickaxe you can afford. Don't rebirth with 500K sitting in your account. Spend it first.
My rebirth strategy:
- Farm until I can afford the next pickaxe tier
- Buy the pickaxe
- Farm a bit more to test if I can reach the next tier quickly
- If not, rebirth and start fresh with bonuses
The first three rebirths are fast. After Rebirth 5, progression slows down significantly.
Fuse Machine
Use the Fuse Machine before rebirthing. It saves brainrots through the reset.
Put your best brainrots in the Fuse Machine. After rebirth, they'll still be there. I lost a God-tier brainrot on my first rebirth because I didn't know about this. Don't make my mistake.
Base Management
Your base generates cash from placed brainrots. Optimization matters.
Brainrot Placement
- Fill every slot on your plot
- Higher-value brainrots = more cash per second
- Replace low-tier brainrots when you get better ones
- Lock your base (L key) to prevent theft
Base Lock
The lock has a 60-second cooldown. When locked, other players can't steal your brainrots.
Always lock after placing valuable brainrots. I've had players sprint into my base and grab stuff while I was in the arena. The lock prevents this.
Advanced Strategies
Efficient Farming Routes
Don't wander randomly. Pick a section of the arena and clear it systematically.
My route:
- Enter arena from the side closest to Angel Blocks
- Break 3-4 blocks in a cluster
- Grab spawned brainrots
- Check for Secret Blocks or Block Gods
- Return to base when inventory feels full or Sammy gets close
Server Hopping
Private servers have less competition for rare blocks. If you're struggling in public servers, consider:
- Creating a free private server
- Joining during off-peak hours
- Finding servers with fewer high-level players
AFK Farming
Your brainrots generate cash while you're AFK. If you need to step away:
- Lock your base
- Make sure you're not in the arena
- Let cash accumulate
I've left the game running overnight and come back to millions in cash. Not the fastest method, but it's passive.
Common Mistakes
Rushing rare blocks with a weak pickaxe. You'll die before breaking them. Stick to blocks you can handle.
Forgetting to lock your base. Other players will steal your brainrots. Lock after every placement.
Rebirthing too early. Spend your cash on upgrades first. Rebirthing with money in your account wastes it.
Ignoring the Fuse Machine. Your best brainrots disappear on rebirth unless you fuse them.
Spam clicking instead of holding. Hold the click button for consistent damage. Spam clicking is slower.
