Anime Vanguards Elemental Towers Guide

Elemental Towers dropped with Update 10 and it’s now the main endgame grind. I’ve been running these nonstop since December 23rd. Currently pushing floor 60+ on Fire Tower and floor 45+ on most others.

This mode is different from everything else in Anime Vanguards. You can only use units matching the tower’s element. No more stacking your best units and brute forcing. You need actual strategy and element-specific rosters.

Here’s everything I’ve learned from 50+ hours of Elemental Tower grinding.

What Are Elemental Towers?

11 element-specific towers with infinite floors. Each tower only allows units of that element. The higher you climb, the better the rewards.

The 11 Elements:

  • Fire
  • Water
  • Wind
  • Earth
  • Lightning
  • Ice
  • Dark
  • Light
  • Nature
  • Metal
  • Void

You can bring up to 6 units per run. All must match the tower’s element. No exceptions.

Rewards

This is why you grind Elemental Towers. The rewards are insane.

Floor RangeRewards
1-10Trait Rerolls, Gold
11-25Stat Chips, Gems
26-50Phoenix Shards, Rare Materials
51-75Evolution Materials, Premium Currency
76-100Exclusive Cosmetics, Titles
100+Bragging rights, leaderboard

Phoenix Shards are the big one. You need these for certain evolutions and they’re nearly impossible to get elsewhere. Floor 30+ drops them consistently.

Even if you can only clear floor 5-10, the Trait Rerolls alone make it worth running daily.

General Strategy

Build Element-Specific Teams

This sounds obvious but most players mess it up. You need at least one strong team for each element you want to push.

I focused on Fire first because I had Fire Foot and Tanjiro. Got to floor 50 before I hit a wall. Then I realized I needed to spread my resources across multiple elements.

My recommendation: Pick 3-4 elements to focus on initially. Build those teams to floor 30+ capability. Then expand.

Team Composition Matters

Every team needs:

  • 1-2 DPS units (your damage dealers)
  • 1 Support unit (buffs, heals, or debuffs)
  • 1 AoE unit (wave clear)
  • 1-2 Flex slots (whatever you need)

Don’t stack 6 DPS units. You’ll get overwhelmed by trash mobs while your single-target damage does nothing.

Placement is Everything

Elemental Towers have fixed maps. Learn the choke points.

General rules:

  • AoE units at intersections
  • Single-target DPS on boss lanes
  • Supports in the center (buff range)
  • Tanks at the front (if you use them)

I failed floor 30 Fire Tower 5 times before I realized my Fire Foot was in the wrong spot. Moved him to the intersection and cleared it first try.

Use Score Modifiers Wisely

Score modifiers increase difficulty but also increase rewards. On lower floors, crank them up. On floors where you’re struggling, turn them off.

I run max modifiers on floors 1-20. Free extra rewards. Floors 40+ I turn everything off and just try to survive.

Best Teams by Element

Based on my testing and what I’ve seen in the community.

Fire Tower

My Team (Floor 60+):

  • Fire Foot (Chef) - Main DPS
  • Tanjiro (Sun God) - Secondary DPS
  • Ace - AoE clear
  • Natsu - Support/DPS hybrid
  • Endeavor - Tank
  • Flex slot

Fire Foot with Chef evolution is the carry. His burn damage stacks and his food buff keeps the team alive. Tanjiro’s Sun Breathing hits hard but has long cooldowns.

Budget Team:

  • Any fire DPS you have
  • Natsu (relatively common)
  • Fire supports

Even a mediocre Fire team can hit floor 20-30.

Wind Tower

My Team (Floor 45+):

  • Tempest Pirate - Main DPS/Control
  • Sosuke (if wind element) - AoE
  • Wind supports
  • Any wind DPS

Tempest Pirate is essential here. His slow effect gives you time to kill enemies before they reach the end. Without him, Wind Tower is brutal.

Dark Tower

My Team (Floor 50+):

  • Skele King (Rock) - Support/DPS
  • Cursed King - AoE
  • Dark DPS units
  • Vampire units (lifesteal helps)

Skele King’s team-wide attack speed buff is huge in Dark Tower. The enemies are tanky so you need sustained damage, not burst.

Light Tower

My Team (Floor 40+):

  • Gojo (Domain) - Crowd control
  • Naruto (Baryon) - DPS
  • Light supports
  • Healing units

Gojo’s Domain Expansion trivializes early floors. Later floors require more sustained damage.

Other Towers

I’m still building teams for Water, Earth, Lightning, Ice, Nature, Metal, and Void. Most players focus on 3-4 elements first.

General advice: Use whatever units you have. A full team of mediocre units beats a partial team of good units.

Floor Breakpoints

Certain floors are significantly harder than others.

Floor 10 (First Wall)

Boss wave. Your first real test. If you can’t clear floor 10, your team needs work.

Tips:

  • Focus boss with single-target DPS
  • Use AoE to clear adds
  • Don’t panic deploy

Floor 25 (Second Wall)

Enemy HP spikes. Trash mobs become tanky.

Tips:

  • Need actual DPS investment
  • Supports become essential
  • Positioning matters more

Floor 50 (Third Wall)

This is where most players plateau. Enemies hit hard and have tons of HP.

Tips:

  • Perfect traits required
  • Team synergy matters
  • Learn the spawn patterns

Floor 75+ (Endgame)

I’ve only hit this on Fire Tower. It’s brutal.

Tips:

  • Max investment required
  • Specific unit combos
  • RNG plays a factor

Common Mistakes

Ignoring element diversity. You need teams for multiple elements. Don’t dump everything into one.

Skipping lower floors. Even floor 1-10 gives Trait Rerolls. Run them daily.

Bad placement. Learn the maps. Watch where enemies spawn and path.

No supports. Pure DPS teams hit a wall around floor 30. Add supports.

Wasting resources on bad units. Check our Anime Vanguards Tier List before investing.

Daily Routine

Here’s what I do every day:

  1. Run Fire Tower to my max floor (currently 60)
  2. Run Wind Tower to floor 45
  3. Run Dark Tower to floor 50
  4. Quick runs on other towers for daily rewards
  5. Use Trait Rerolls on units that need them

Takes about 45 minutes. The rewards compound over time.

Co-op Tips

You can run Elemental Towers in co-op. This helps for floors you can’t solo.

Co-op benefits:

  • Combined unit pools
  • Shared placement
  • Easier clears

Co-op downsides:

  • Coordination required
  • Randoms can grief
  • Rewards split (I think?)

I mostly solo but co-op is great for pushing past walls.

Rewards Optimization

Best Towers for Specific Rewards

  • Trait Rerolls: Any tower, floors 1-10
  • Phoenix Shards: Fire Tower, floors 30+
  • Stat Chips: Dark Tower, floors 20+
  • Evolution Materials: Light Tower, floors 40+

Farming Strategy

If you need Trait Rerolls, spam floor 1-10 on your strongest tower. Fast clears, consistent drops.

If you need Phoenix Shards, push as high as you can on Fire Tower. Higher floors = more shards.
