I started Anime Last Stand thinking it was just another anime tower defense game. 200+ hours later, I’m still grinding Infinite Mode daily. This game is genuinely addicting once you understand how it works.
The problem? The game throws a lot at you. Banners, rerolls, traits, evolutions, techniques, pearls, gems. I wasted my first 500 rerolls on random units before I understood what actually mattered. Don’t be me.
This guide covers everything you need to know as a new player. What to prioritize, which units to chase, and how to progress without wasting resources.
Grab the free rerolls and pearls from codes first. Over 5000 free rerolls waiting for you.
How the Game Works
Anime Last Stand is a tower defense game where you place anime-inspired units to defend against waves of enemies. Simple concept, deep execution.
Core gameplay loop:
- Summon units from banners using gems
- Place units on the map to defend
- Upgrade units during battle
- Complete stages to earn rewards
- Use rerolls to improve unit traits
- Evolve units into stronger forms
What makes it different: The trait and evolution systems. A common unit with perfect traits can outperform a rare unit with bad traits. And many units have evolution paths that transform them into completely different (and much stronger) characters.
Your First Day
Here’s exactly what to do when you start:
Step 1: Redeem all codes Before anything else, grab the Anime Last Stand codes. You’ll get 5000+ rerolls and 500+ pearls. This is insane value that will carry you through early game.
Step 2: Join the Roblox group You MUST join the [B:S] ALS Team Roblox group. Codes won’t work without it. I spent 20 minutes troubleshooting before figuring this out.
Step 3: Do your first summons Use your starting gems on the current banner. Don’t save them. You need units to progress, and early gems are easy to replace.
Step 4: Complete World 1 Push through the story mode. World 1 is basically a tutorial. You’ll unlock more features as you progress.
Step 5: Don’t delete ANY units This is critical. Even weak-looking units can evolve into powerful forms later. I deleted a “useless” unit that turned out to be an evolution material. Still regret it.
Understanding Units
Units are the core of the game. Here’s how they work:
Rarity Tiers
| Rarity | Drop Rate | Power Level |
|---|---|---|
| Common | High | Low |
| Rare | Medium | Medium |
| Epic | Low | High |
| Legendary | Very Low | Very High |
| Mythic | Extremely Low | Extremely High |
| Godly | 0.03% | Broken |
Godly units are the endgame goal. They’re absurdly rare (0.03% drop rate) but completely transform your team. I pulled my first Godly around hour 80. Worth the wait.
Traits
Every unit has traits that modify their stats. Traits are random when you summon, but you can reroll them.
Good traits to look for:
- Damage boost traits
- Attack speed traits
- Range increase traits
- Cost reduction traits
Bad traits to avoid:
- Negative damage modifiers
- Reduced range
- Increased cost
This is where your 5000+ rerolls come in. Use them to get perfect traits on your best units. A unit with perfect traits is significantly stronger than the same unit with bad traits.
Evolutions
Many units can evolve into stronger forms. Some evolution paths:
- Common → Rare → Epic
- Epic → Legendary
- Legendary → Mythic
- Mythic → Godly
Evolution usually requires:
- The base unit at max level
- Specific materials
- Sometimes completing quests
Pro tip: Check the evolution paths before investing in a unit. Some common units evolve into Godly-tier characters. Don’t sleep on them.
Best Starting Units
When you’re new, focus on these unit types:
DPS Units (Damage Dealers)
Your main damage source. Place them where they can hit the most enemies.
Good early options:
- Any unit with high base damage
- Units with AoE (area of effect) attacks
- Fast-attacking units for consistent damage
Support Units
Buff your other units or debuff enemies. Essential for harder content.
What to look for:
- Attack speed buffs
- Damage amplification
- Enemy slow effects
Tank Units
High HP units that can take hits. Less important in tower defense but useful for certain maps.
Progression Path
Here’s the optimal progression route:
World 1 (Hours 1-5)

- Build your first team of 4-5 units
- Don’t worry about optimization yet
World 2 (Hours 5-15)
- Stages get harder
- Start focusing on unit synergies
- Use rerolls on your main DPS
- Look for evolution materials
World 3+ (Hours 15+)
- Meta knowledge becomes important
- Start building specialized teams
- Farm for specific units
- Push Infinite Mode for rewards
Infinite Mode (Endgame)
- Endless waves with scaling difficulty
- Best rewards in the game
- Requires optimized teams
- Where the real grind begins

Reroll Locks
Lock good traits while rerolling others. Extremely valuable.
Spend on: Units with 1-2 perfect traits that need the rest fixed.
Common Mistakes
I made all of these. Learn from my pain.
Deleting units for space. Many “useless” units are evolution materials. I deleted something I needed and had to farm for 3 hours to get it back.
Spreading rerolls across all units. Focus on your main 3-4 units. Perfect traits on your best DPS matters more than okay traits on everyone.
Ignoring support units. A good support can double your team’s damage. I ran pure DPS for 50 hours before realizing supports are broken.
Skipping codes. 5000+ free rerolls is not a joke. That’s weeks of grinding saved.
Chasing every new banner. New doesn’t mean better. Check tier lists before spending gems.
Not joining the Roblox group. Codes literally don’t work without it. Join first.
Team Building Basics
A balanced team needs:
1-2 Main DPS: Your damage dealers. Invest most resources here.
1 Support: Buffs your team or debuffs enemies. Multiplies your DPS.
1-2 Flex slots: Situational picks based on the map or enemy types.
Placement Strategy
- Place DPS where they can hit the most path
- Supports should buff your DPS (check range)
- Don’t cluster everything in one spot
- Leave room for upgrades during battle
What to Do Daily
Once you’re established, here’s your daily routine:
- Redeem new codes (check weekly)
- Complete daily quests for gems
- Do your daily summons if available
- Push Infinite Mode for rewards
- Check events for limited units
- Reroll traits on your main units
When to Reroll Your Account
Sometimes starting fresh is better. Consider rerolling if:
- You deleted important evolution materials
- You spent all gems on bad banners
- You’re stuck and want a fresh start
Don’t reroll if:
- You have any Godly units
- You’ve invested significant time
- You just need better traits (use rerolls instead)
