Artifacts are the endgame grind in Anime Guardians. A unit with the right artifact and traits hits different. I ignored artifacts for my first 100 hours and wondered why my damage was mid. Don’t be me.
This guide covers the best artifacts, where to farm them, and how to roll good traits.
How Artifacts Work
Each unit can equip one artifact. Artifacts provide:
- Passive stat bonuses
- Special effects (cooldown reduction, damage boosts, etc.)
- Trait slots for additional bonuses
Artifacts have their own trait system separate from unit traits. You need Artifact Trait Rerolls to change them.
Artifact Tier List
S+ Tier (Must Have)
Toxic Greatsword The best DPS artifact. Deals +50% damage to bosses and has a 20% chance to inflict Dark Damage (2.5x damage).
Best for: Any DPS unit, especially Sung and Saitama.
Where to get: Worldline 2 boss drops, Raid shop.
Abyssal Frost Aegis (NEW - Update 21) Starts every match with your unit already maxed. Skips early-wave setup entirely.
Best for: Slow-scaling units that need time to ramp up.
Where to get: Christmas event shop, Re:Zero event drops.
Plague Bloom Scepter (NEW - Update 21) Same effect as Abyssal Frost Aegis but for a different unit slot. Run both to start with 2 maxed units.
Best for: Support units, secondary DPS.
Where to get: Christmas event shop.
Celestial Tear Pendant Reduces active skill cooldown by 20%. Massive for ability-spam units.
Best for: Gojo, Anos, any unit with strong abilities.
Where to get: Mushroom Event shop (40,000 mushrooms).
S Tier (Excellent)
Violet Scythe Reduces Castorice ability cooldown. Grants -20% SPA (attacks faster).
Best for: Castorice specifically, decent on others.
Where to get: Worldline (Lingxian Yard) - 1% drop rate.
Divine Wrath Increases damage based on enemy HP. Better against bosses and tanky enemies.
Best for: Boss killers, Infinite Mode pushers.
Where to get: Raid boss drops, event shops.
Cursed Book Increases curse damage and duration. Synergizes with curse-applying units.
Best for: Sukuna, curse-based teams.
Where to get: Jujutsu Kaisen event, Worldline drops.
A Tier (Good)
D4C Summons a clone that deals 50% of your damage. Effectively 1.5x DPS.
Best for: Any DPS unit without a better option.
Where to get: JoJo event, crafting.
Wonder of You Enemies that attack you take reflected damage. Good for tanky units.
Best for: Front-line units, shield breakers.
Where to get: JoJo event, crafting.
Puucci Time acceleration effect. Speeds up your unit’s attacks.
Best for: Attack speed scaling units.
Where to get: JoJo event, crafting.
B Tier (Decent)
Emperor Shadow Orb Boosts shadow damage for Sung Jin Woo specifically.
Best for: Sung only.
Where to get: Code rewards, event shops.
Ragna Capsule drops Random artifacts from capsules. Quality varies.
Best for: Early game, filling empty slots.
Where to get: Event shops, code rewards.
Artifact Traits
Artifacts have their own trait system. You need Artifact Trait Rerolls to change them.
Best Artifact Traits
Damage++ - Always good. More damage is more damage.
Cooldown- - Faster abilities. Great on Celestial Tear builds.
Range+ - Quality of life. Hit more enemies.
Boss Damage+ - Specifically for boss killing. Stacks with Toxic Greatsword.
Attack Speed+ - More hits per second. Good on fast attackers.
How to Reroll Artifact Traits
Use Artifact Trait Rerolls from:
- Codes (check our codes page)
- Event shops
- Infinite Mode rewards
- Raid drops
Each reroll gives a random new trait. Same RNG as unit traits.
I spent about 150 Artifact Rerolls getting Damage++ on my Toxic Greatsword. Worth it.
Farming Artifacts
Worldlines
Each Worldline drops specific artifacts:
Worldline 1: Slime-themed artifacts, D4C materials Worldline 2: Toxic Greatsword, Berserk artifacts Worldline 3: Re:Zero artifacts, Abyssal Frost Aegis
Run Worldlines on Nightmare for best drop rates. Artifacts drop from Wave 30+ bosses.
Event Shops
Limited-time events sell exclusive artifacts:
Christmas Event (Current):
- Abyssal Frost Aegis
- Plague Bloom Scepter
- Various capsules
Mushroom Event:
- Celestial Tear Pendant (40,000 mushrooms)
- Random artifact capsules
Farm event currency and clear the shop before events end.
Raids
Raid bosses drop:
- Toxic Greatsword
- Divine Wrath
- Raid-specific artifacts
Join public raids when available. Higher difficulty = better drops.
Crafting
Some artifacts can be crafted:
- D4C
- Wonder of You
- Puucci
Crafting requires materials from events and Worldlines. Check the crafting menu for requirements.
Best Artifact Builds
DPS Build (Sung/Saitama)
Artifact: Toxic Greatsword Traits: Damage++, Boss Damage+, Attack Speed+
This build maximizes raw damage output. The 50% boss damage from Toxic Greatsword stacks with Boss Damage+ trait.
Ability Spam Build (Gojo/Anos)
Artifact: Celestial Tear Pendant Traits: Cooldown-, Damage++, Range+
20% cooldown reduction from artifact plus Cooldown- trait means abilities are almost always available.
Early Wave Skip Build (Update 21 Meta)
Artifact: Abyssal Frost Aegis Traits: Damage++, Range+, Attack Speed+
Start every match with a maxed unit. Skips the slow early waves entirely. Pair with Plague Bloom Scepter on a second unit.
Shield Breaker Build (Denji/Reinhard)
Artifact: Wonder of You or D4C Traits: Attack Speed+, Damage++, Range+
Fast attacks to break God Shields quickly. D4C clone helps with shield damage.
Common Mistakes
Ignoring artifacts entirely. They’re a massive power boost. Don’t skip them.
Wrong artifact on wrong unit. Toxic Greatsword on a support is wasted. Match artifacts to unit roles.
Not rerolling artifact traits. An artifact with bad traits is half as effective. Use your rerolls.
Missing event artifacts. Abyssal Frost Aegis and Plague Bloom Scepter are event-exclusive. Farm them now.
Spreading artifacts too thin. Focus on your main 6 units first. Perfect those before touching others.
Artifact Priority Order
If you’re new, get artifacts in this order:
- Toxic Greatsword for your main DPS
- Celestial Tear Pendant for your ability user
- D4C for your secondary DPS
- Event artifacts before events end
- Fill remaining slots with whatever you have
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I start farming artifacts?
After you have 2-3 evolved units. Artifacts are endgame gear. If your units aren’t evolved yet, focus on that first. Artifacts amplify strong units, they don’t fix weak ones.
Do artifact traits stack with unit traits?
Yes. Damage++ on your unit plus Damage++ on your artifact means double the bonus. This is why endgame players hit insane numbers.
What’s the drop rate for Toxic Greatsword?
Low. Maybe 2-5% from Worldline 2 bosses. Expect to run it 30-50 times. The raid shop also sells it but costs a lot of raid currency.
Can I transfer artifacts between units?
Yes. Artifacts aren’t locked to units. Unequip from one, equip to another. Useful when you pull a better unit and want to move your best artifact over.
Are event artifacts worth farming?
Absolutely. Abyssal Frost Aegis and Plague Bloom Scepter from the Christmas event are S+ tier. Event artifacts often don’t come back for months. Farm them now.
Should I reroll artifact traits on a bad artifact?
No. Save your Artifact Trait Rerolls for S-tier artifacts. Getting Damage++ on a B-tier artifact is wasted when you could put it on Toxic Greatsword instead.
